If he were to repeat the words aloud, he himself would think he was lying, and react as such. Kadaj was going on a date. An...Al Bhed thing. Which happened to be a human custom. With someone he had just met. A girl, one who acted like a girl in all her femininity...or so he believed. Somehow, passing it off as impulsive made it easier to accept. At least, she seemed interesting compared to her normal kind. This would be a nice change from the norm. Hah. The norm being chaos, the bickering, the destruction he thrived in but Rikku would be a delightful change, wouldn't she? She had already proven to be more tolerable. He had never paid much attention, but the only explanation could be she was the exception to the rule. As far as the date went... It being a new experience, he wasn't sure how to feel but the girl seemed happy about it, so he was too, possibly for different reasons. The idea of it was just too entertaining to pass off, and though his pride kept him from admitting it he was somewhat interested to see what it was like. Surely Rikku had gone on dates before, even if she hadn't found that kind of guy.
Yeah maybe, maybe not. So how did these date things go? Long awkward silences wouldn't be a problem. Knowing him, he may have her impaled when his mind drew a blank. Oh, but wouldn't that be embarrassing? Nah. Yet he would cause such a scene. Not that he was actually considering acting on these thoughts, or so he would argue in person. Even he couldn't be too sure. It was often like walking in a daze, except getting lost was never an issue, so he continued on the path with ease.
Arriving at the designated location, he paused and contemplated on his announcement. Just stepping in as he usually would wasn't the polite response, was it? Scoffing at himself, he knocked firmly several times, and followed with stepping back, fidgeting a little with an ill-hidden mischievous smile. Seconds later and he was calm, relaxed in stance and the hint of a hard to read smirk playing across his features as he waited, not eager to announce his name, though that probably wouldn't keep her guessing.
