Who: Eike [ todefydestiny ] & Kasukabe [ meronymous ] What: Doctor on duty, medical examination! Where: Just outside one of the red/yellow zones, around the streets. When: Some time after this thread.
It wasn't that Kasukabe was completely oblivious to his patient's discomfort, though -- of course he wasn't, he'd be a terribly poor doctor if he was! Besides, it wasn't hard to tell from the tensed limbs and faint flinches that Eike was probably a bit uncomfortable about Jackson. Which was a sad thing, since Caiman had been the same about Johnson, and anyone who saw Jackson tended to flinch away. Ah, well. Couldn't really be helped that people judged so heavily based on appearances, especially since Jackson was fairly obedient and good-natured once you got past the enormous pincers and ever-so-slightly-acidic drool.
Popping the vial of blood in his pocket and peeling his gloves off, he pulled the syringe apart and stowed it away to dispose of properly later. "I have a feeling that many people already know about these danger zones, judging by previous conversation records and such, especially those who have been here for some time. But yes, I'll be sure to relay this information to Ganta-kun later. He sounded quite concerned about you, and he's bound to be relieved to hear you're well -- ah, you might not want to move too much for a bit, you'll be a bit dizzy -- oh?"
Pause, and Kasukabe looked from the offered bottle, to Eike, and back to the bottle before taking it with a grin. "I wasn't actually looking for any payment, since it seems money doesn't have much meaning or significance here, but I'd love to keep a sample of this antidote, if that's alright. I haven't heard of the sea hare before, and I would quite enjoy the chance to analyze a new sample. Maybe it will come in handy later."
Pause, pause, again, and he laughed, tucking the vial of antidote away in his pocket. "Look at me, talking so much. Are you feeling alright now? And -- would you like to get off? Something tells me you aren't quite enjoying Jackson's shell too much."
"Oh. Danger zones? What are they?" From just their description, he supposed places that he was not supposed to be, but did that really explain why he got so sick when he wandered into one? Was there something in the air that caused it? But just in that portion of the city and nowhere else? Could something really be filtered to do something like that? Eike wondered briefly why he was trying to put logic and realistic constraints on a place, when he had been time traveling and being teleported all over for the entire day. "E-Either way, thank you. For telling Ganta about them."
His turn to pause. "Wait, Gantakun? Oh. I didn't realize I was saying his name wrong." Unfortunately, his knowledge of Japan and all that implies was not something in the wealth of knowledge that Eike had. He committed it to memory, repeating it a few times so that it would stick. Well, he would also write it down in his communicator for later so that he would not forget to call Ganta such. Very embarrassing to call someone the wrong name.
"I hope so. Well, I mean, I hope not. That no one gets poisoned by a male sea hare. And, they're a mollusk, a sort of slug, I guess." Really, he researched just a bit on them so that he could find out what antidote to use so that he would not later be die. He wondered if he should say that the antidote is no longer in circulation, but that felt more like it was bragging than anything else. Either way, it seemed like it went to the right person. Someone who would be able to quickly help others should they be in need.
A blush did form when it seemed he was more or less caught about his discomfort about the rather large termite he was riding on. "Well, it's just ... he is kind of intimidating." Eike felt that he should just come clean as to why he was so troubled by Jackson. Somehow, this was taking longer than the calm acceptance of everything else that has happened to him thus far. Regardless, his head gave a few small movements left and right -- trying to think and also giving himself a minor headache in doing so, seemingly not completely recovered from the 'danger zones' that Kasukabe spoke of. He wondered how long it would take, but he felt he had something more important to say first. "I'm sorry. It seems rude to respond so poorly to your --" The word 'ride' came to mind, but that sounded wrong to him so chose another. "--pet. They don't all have to be cuddly. And it seems like Jackson is really helpful."
