"It's a church. A Christian temple, to their god and his son." A strange, echoing voice replied.

It belonged to the creature sitting leaned against the church wall, an androgynous creature with white skin, dark hair, and red eyes dressed all in black. Homunculus smirked up at his new and most likely temporary toy, looking like the cat that ate the canary.

Glancing over his shoulder once he heard the newcomer's eerie whisper, Xiao Meng stood there for a few moments in total silence as he eyed the person who stood before him. The other was just as pale as as ivory nearly devoid of any color except for that mane of dark hair. The stranger's eyes were red like rubies but darker than crimson, a sight that actually baffled Meng for he never seen anyone with such eyes before. He blinked his eyes for a moment as he stared at this young man, not quite sure if this newcomer was male or female...

The irony of meeting another individual similar to himself did not go unnoticed by the androgynous assassin.

"A Christian temple?" Xiao Meng said as his gazed upon the church once more. "Is that what it is? I never heard of 'Christian' temples before." He felt a little nervous around this stranger, something about those crimson eyes made him feel the need to be wary.

"A-are you the priest of this temple?"

Homunculus chuckled, genuinely amused by the question and by the nervousness and wariness rolling off the young man dressed as a woman before him.

"No, I'm not the priest. I am surprised you've never heard of the religion, however- they shoved it down most of the world's throat if memory serves, and it never does anything but." He paused, glanced at Xiao Meng's clothing. "Tell me, what year was it in your home world?"

Frowning slightly once the creature looked him over, Xiao Meng decided to leave his curiosity for this strange temple and it's Christian faith for now. Judging by the mischief lurking within those red orbs, perhaps now wasn't the time to indulge this stranger with idle talk. The other seemed far more interested in his manner of dress(Which Meng does know is rather odd) rather than speaking more about this strange religion.

"The year of the Han." He paused for a moment. "Correction, the last year of the Han. The entire world from which I am from is in total chaos." Xiao Ming sighed a little.

"It's a very lengthy story, one that I do think I need to share with an friend I barely know." Oh, Meng certainly hoped this being was a friend and not a foe.

"Ah, that fits then. Christianity wasn't even really a religion until a century or two after that." This was muttered under his breath, not really meant for Xiao Meng's ears.

To his last statement, Homunculus gave a patient and faintly mocking smile. "Of course, of course." He said blandly. Truthfully, he could have cared less about the story. But this human's reactions were truly amusing, and he was too winded yet to try and leave anyway.

Watching the other in slight wonder, Meng couldn’t help but try to be somewhat polite towards this odd stranger even if those eyes of his worried his soul. "You seem to know a lot, friend..." He began, careful to choose with his words so he doesn't offend him.

"Are you a native to this land or are you another captive?" Now it was time for Xiao Meng's curiosity to be quenched.

"Your name? Who are you?"

Meng would receive another mocking little smile at the comment about knowing a lot, a smile that seemed to say Oh, you have no idea.

"I'm a captive, the same as you. I am Homunculus."

Frowning slightly once the Homunculus smirked at him, Xiao Meng returned the other’s sly smirk with a look of disapproval as if he was about to scold him. Something about this boy reminded him vaguely of the four devious boys he once cared for within the Sima’s mansion. Homunculus may lack the same sense of innocence that the children had but he certainly possesses the wily guise of the children that Meng sourly missed.

"If you a captive as well, then I am sure you know about the chaos that has befallen upon us." Xiao Meng stated as he began to wander away from the church, no longer interested in learning more about this temple of worship. His interest now lingered upon this strange pale boy, hoping to learn more about Nuadoria from this fellow captive.

"The Magisters, they are not even sure as to what is happening here."

Homunculus followed Xiao Meng at his own sedate pace. Purely because the man amused him, of course- he refused to even entertain the notion that he was lonely.

"Well, you'd have to define 'chaos'. Are you referring to the general situation we captives find ourselves in, or some latest event of which I'm not aware?" He queried, all false innocence and mocking little smiles.

'The latest event you are not aware of?' Meng mused as he gave the Homunculus a stern glare from the corners of his eyes. It seems that this brat was certainly intending to pester him with that mocking smirk and fake innocence. Anyone with eyes and ears could see or hear the chaos that has overtaken Nuadoria. Xiao Meng could tell that this boy was only going to be a nuisance for him, so he hurried in his step to lose the boy once he traveled far enough.

"You know exactly what I mean." He grumbled bitterly as he stalked towards the fountain again wondering where all the people of this city were. "Anyone as painfully oblivious as you should be shot dead."

"Of course." He dropped his coy, mocking tone for a more serious one. "The monsters. The executioners. The slow transition from the city we captives have come to know to something...other."

There was a pause, during which ruby eyes narrowed in thought and thin arms crossed themselves over the narrow chest. It was a defensive gesture. "I'm afraid I don't know much that you probably don't know already."
