Reno spotted Sasuke after making his way past the drink table. If he was planning on blending in, he really should have picked something else to wear. The Turk barely kept himself from smirking at how easily the kid had changed his mind; he knew what he'd told him would bring him out. Although he didn't quite expect him to dress for the occasion. Everyone seemed to have jumped on the opportunity to pretend they weren't trapped in some rundown city governed by temperamental pricks who couldn't decide if they wanted to kill them or use them for their own entertainment.

From the looks of the ball, they had decided on the latter for the moment. Reno washed the thought from his mind by downing the cup in his hand. At least they'd had the decency to bring liquor. It'd help him stomach the blatant hypocrisy being thrown in their faces.

Glancing back at the wall, he motioned to Sasuke with a subtle nod. He wasn't sure why he wanted him there, other than the fact that he always managed to look more miserable than the Turk felt. Although after what he had just been through, maybe he had some morbid curiosity how life after death had treated him the second time around.

For himself, the Turk wore nothing more formal than his usual uniform. The only allowance he gave towards the dress code was to tuck in his shirt at the door. Reno wasn't going to be tricked into thinking any of them were guests there, and he wasn't going to give the satisfaction of playing along.

... So why was he there?

Coming hadn't really been an order, so he couldn't use it as his excuse for showing up. Considering who he knew at the party, he couldn't even rationalize it as anything other than masochism. If Kadaj wanted to start something, Reno didn't even have backup. Rude and Tseng were around somewhere. He imagined Cissnei was too, but he hadn't told him his plans. For once he wanted to deal with his own problems when he ran into them.

Or maybe he was only there to watch how the Magisters would react if not everyone went along with their pathetic attempt at a truce.

"Nice outfit," he managed once he was within earshot of the other; his teasing only halfhearted as his eyes darted around the room for a few familiar faces. "Have you seen anything interesting?"

Once Sasuke had gotten a little further into the room, he spotted a couple interesting things. A certain silver haired man who had gotten there only moments before he had. He smirked slightly. Reno would certainly be interested that he had shown up. And while it was weird large cat that was wondering around was oddly familiar. He shook off the familiarity though. There was no way...

His attention turned to the red head standing by the drink table. He smirked slightly. The other was wearing his uniform that he had seen him in so many times before. He was treating this just like everything else; like business. He probably should have dressed for business. His outfit was slightly over the top, but it was a formal event; an Uchiha just didn't show up to an event in inappropriate outfits.

He started over to him, staying alert. It was natural. He was a shinobi, while this was supposed to be a formal event, he was sure there were some that had come to start something. He had brought a few kunai with him, just incase, two hidden inside his sleeves and a few more hidden in a pouch strapped to his leg. He didn't want trouble, and he hoped nothing would make him use his hidden weapons.

As he moved to Reno's side, he sneered. Reno's comment wasn't exactly called for, and it almost felt like an insult to his families name. He crossed his arms again, almost closing off from the other immediately.

"At least I'm not dressed like I'm at work. Not everyone will know who I am," Sasuke shot back looking over the crowd, "I saw your friend as I came in. And there's a big cat walking around. The magisters are around, but I figured that was expected."

Sasuke hoped it was obvious that Reno had finally hit a nerve with him. It may not have been intentional, but Sasuke was going to respect his family's traditions. His eyes were narrowed as he continued to look around the room for things that were out of place, or people that could be potential problems.
