Who: Zack Fair [
existenta] + Aerith Gainsborough [
curatia]
What: Sephiroth has released Aerith and she's asked Zack to meet her.
Where: Outskirts of the city.
When: After Sephy leaves Aerith to go to the docks.
It had finished as quickly as it had begun.
He had been angry. His eyes had flashed and he had been fighting the urge to hurt her, she had seen that. But he hadn't. His self control was extraordinary. But it didn't change the fact that he had stolen something that was worth more than Aerith's own life. She didn't care that she couldn't hear the Lifestream anymore. She couldn't even bring herself to worry about the fact that she was lost in a foreign city with many strangers from different worlds. All she could think about was what had been stolen from her.
It was almost as if he knew what it had been, when Aerith was still oblivious. She was too young...she hadn't been through it.
But it didn't change the fact that Aerith felt an overwhelming sense of loss. She couldn't hold back the tears that slipped silently down her cheeks. She couldn't help the occasional hiccup that slipped past her lips regardless of trying to hold them down. Her mother would have been extremely upset with her. She hadn't lost the perfect pearlescent globe she had kept tied in her hair ever since Zack had bought her that ribbon....it had been stolen. Aerith had convinced herself that that was even worse.
And her ribbon. The first gift she had ever received from a close friend. The only gift she had kept and treasured for the past 4 years.
Aerith had pinged her map to display her location to Zack once he inquired, however she hadn't the strength to speak to him more than she already had. Her shoulders were slumped in defeat, her booted feet scuffling softly against the grass as she made her way back to the city. She had no idea how Sephiroth had managed to carry her all the way here. Since appearing she had explored a little, but this area was completely foreign. She could see a large body of water a long distance away...but she had no will to get over there to see what it was. Logic told her it was the ocean, but at this point Aerith was so worn out and down that she really didn't care.
Her hair felt too light and too nothing ever since the ribbon had been pulled from it. The materia she had kept with her at all times also felt like a missing piece. She missed the soft pressure of it pressing against her head above her braid. The braid itself had unwoven and hung limply at her back, caressing the back of her dress as she walked. Only a thin band of elastic held it back from her face.
Another choked sob caused her to stop in her tracks and look up into the sky. "I'm sorry, mother.." That orb and the ribbon had meant the world to her...
She'd get them back from him, regardless of the backlash...
