all this.
It was a pointless victory, or so it only had to seem. That book, one that didn’t open no matter what she did to it, had suddenly become a wanted item and this was what originally caught Rinoa’s attention. Or, rather, Ultimecia’s. Rinoa herself had no choice, no say, and no physical meaning to the subject at hand. Unfortunately, it couldn’t also be said that she had no idea of what was going on outside, either. There was no explanation for where she was hidden in the physical form, but she could see and she could hear, it was just her body that didn’t seem to listen. Just like then.
She prayed no one would come, then no one could get hurt. Worse yet, she hoped the resident, that being, didn’t consider her an enemy. But why wouldn’t it? Ultimecia controlled her, turning her into the murderer she was back home. There was nothing stopping the future sorceress from making her a killer here, too.
These were the fears that enveloped her heart, but Rinoa had to search for the light in such a dark space. Maybe if she fought hard enough she could break free, possibly protect these people from herself.
Inside she screamed, clawed at walls that didn’t exist all to keep from giving up hope. There was a way out she just had to find it and make it stick. She managed to last for a while, but the lack of results and mental strain exhausted her not too long after and finally Rinoa tired out.
You fight hard.
It was her, come to torture her when she could do nothing. A low blow, and cowardly too. Rinoa hated her inability to act and instead refused to answer. There was a low chuckle in response to her silence and then it was empty again.
The body of Rinoa remained still, staring blankly into nothing as the dog, Angelo, whined at her from a distance. The creature had recently learned of the protection Ultimecia gave to Rinoa’s form, and now the dog limped back and forth, simply watching for its master to return. Dark eyes returned that stare now, but Rinoa wasn’t behind the gaze. It was cold, almost laughing at the animal for even attempting to fight. Would it die for her? That could have proven entertaining…
That look lingered for a second longer before her attention fell to the book lying by her feet. This is what was causing all the commotion, and so many people were angry with her now. How amusing it had turned out to be. But the one that brought her here, that apathetic thing had been too easy. Too accepting of her choice; she’d been looking for a fight with the wretched creature. At least she’d riled up some of the other beings, she could use them well until there was another way.
Only time would tell. Time. How funny...
