Nuadoria wasn't so bad, really, once you got used to it. Certainly, if it wasn't one thing it was another, but... wasn't that true no matter where you went? He was trying not to get too worked up about the latest thing going on, which seemed to involve a change in people's memories. He didn't think he was affected (then again, how would he know?), and aside from telling people they were wrong about everything, he didn't think there was much of anything constructive to be done about it, anyway. So he was doing something that did seem, at least, borderline constructive--picking up groceries. (That was a definite upside to Nuadoria. The groceries were free.)
The street was empty as he exited the supermarket with his bag of stuff, but then, the streets were often empty.
