Who: Aerith (curatia) + Zack (existenta)
What: Zack coming to pick up Aerith....again.
Where: Random area Aerith pinged on her map.
When: We'll say late afternoon.

The hollowness and lonely silence in the apartment like room she had woken up in was beginning to become deafening. Aerith wasn't used to it. Trying her best to put on an optimistic, carefree tone while speaking to the people who had replied to her, Aerith hadn't really thought that things were out of place until she had been left alone. For the first time in her life she couldn't hear anything.

Saying she was scared was an understatement. She had never completely understood why she could hear things others couldn't, but the whispering voices were usually a source of comfort when she bothered to take the time to listen. They whispered words of wisdom, words of love to those who still lived and words of the future. Now, in this foreign place...there was nothing. Birds seemed non existant. Creaking, calling, croaking insects and other little creatures were nowhere in sight. The sky itself just didn't seem happy. Everything was dark, dreary and gloomy, with shadows invading territory where the sun usually would shine.

This whole world was depressing. As per usual Aerith was trying to keep a brave smile on her face, but everything was wrong. Everything seemed bad. Zack's voice had been a huge comfort, but now with him on his way and no one else to talk to she couldn't stop dread throwing a veil over her heart, smothering the fleeting flickers of hope that licked at her now and then. Hopefully Zack would get here soon...she knew he'd bring a genuine smile to her lips.

Stepping over to a window and peering out at the dark sky, the slightest sigh escaped her mouth and lightly frosted the glass her forehead rested upon. Everyone wanted to go home. They were all trapped out here, lost within this isolated city with nowhere to go. She had a good view of the street at least; she could watch for Zack instead of going outside to wait. There were so many people here yet she couldn't see anyone...something just didn't feel right. Aerith couldn't put a finger on it, and without her usual talents of listening when she really wanted to know something was plain and simple unsettling.

"What a mess I'm in." Even her softly spoken words seemed too loud. This room was too big. Whoever had lived here before she had arrived had favoured one large room with foldable single bed, a tiny little kitchenette and what looked like a sitting room with one patched up couch. She had woken up on the floor. Not the best way to enter this reality (she did have a rather sore back), but oh well.

She'd be with her friends soon. That's all that mattered.
