Who: Rinoa & Nill (maybe Heine to be all "XO MY NILL")
What: Looking to help a mute angel.
Where: The Fountain.
When: Present time.
The curious device was indeed helpful, though why she had woken up with it beside her was questionable. Regardless, Rinoa wasn't about to bite the hand that feeds and she searched through its options. A map flashed to her attention and the dark haired girl grinned gleefully. Angelo sat quietly beside her, brown eyes staring up at her master as if she had just grown another head. How could anyone be excited after waking up in a place they didn't even recognize? Feeling the confused look, Rinoa glanced down at her companion and shrugged. "It helps," she argued before studying the map available to her.
"A fountain, a fountain," she repeated the words to herself as she began walking, dog trailing behind her. It hadn't occurred to her that she might be walking into a trap, for all she knew it was a trick made by the locals and they were luring her in with an innocent! Rinoa stopped for a second to actually consider this possibility then snorted, one hand resting on her hip. "Well, that would just be pulling out all the stops, wouldn't it?" Angelo barked in response and the pair continued their somewhat lost journey.
She didn't really want to admit to being lost in the first place. It only meant that you didn't know where you were, which wasn't the case! Nuadoria, or whatever that man had called it. It said so on the strange communication device, as well, so it couldn't be a lie. So, by all means, Rinoa wasn't technically lost. She just didn't know the way back, that was all. When that was the only problem, then there was still hope. Even then, who was to say that Squall and the others weren't looking for her either? "When we can get out, we'll take Nill with us, okay? I bet Selphie would love her." Still talking to herself.
Wasn't that the first sign of insanity?
Angelo barked again as the fountain came into view. Turned out Rinoa really wasn't as far from it as she had originally thought. She pocketed the useful device and continued to her destination point, gaze searching for the girl she had recently spoken to. No matter what her situation was, she couldn't leave another helpless person on their own. Maybe that was why she had been so ready to look for someone she had never even met before.
That, or she was just a sucker for anyone and couldn't stand to say no.
