RECAP! OF MY 3WEEKS

Ashley in San Francisco

So basically I left and it was one of the hardest things I ever did. I'm completely attached to my friends, family and way of living. Despite this, I felt it was a good time for change and in the future this move would be one the greatest decisions I ever made.

I cried alot. I left my friends and an unexpected break up occured. Elise came along to drop me off and I was sooo excited that she did, but eventually her and my family left and my journey was just about to begin. In my room is my room mate Aurora who in the beginning was such a quiet awkward girl. As the days go by she opens up more and more and I really am beginning to like her. I was scared at first because I didn't want to have the, "I don't like my room mate" attitude. Luci, Mica and Vanessa are in the other room. Luci is your typical crazy african american girl who can shake it like no other and leaves burnt tamales in the apt. Vanessa is never home. She's either at school or at work in downtown but when she is around she's super loud and has an amusing laugh. Meeka and I have gotten really close. I feel as if she's almost a sister to me. She makes sure she knows where I am and if I'm doing okay or makes me dinner =]. I honestly do love all my room mates, we're so different yet so alike.

I've made alot of friends just by walking around, being in the elevator, going to class or chillin in the dorms. Shopping is amazing out here, I can never get enough of it! My dad came out the weekend after I moved in and we stayed in downtown. One of the nights we ate dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, on top of the 5 story Macys, outside, overlooking downtown. It was so beautiful and I sat there and told myself...I'm no longer a suburb girl.

I've spent alot of time with Jackie, Nikki, Mia (new friend). and of course my room mates. Last Thursday Jackie and I saw Rilo Kiley and they were amazing. Friday was spent with Nikki and Kyle on Haight St with a cute hookah bar and delicious pizza. Saturday was a big day because it was our first party haha =]. The turn out was great and I met alot of really cool people. Of course there was alcohol and NO I didn't drink. I just danced, had fun and watched everyone around me get completely fucked up =X. On Tuesday my mom surprised me and came up here to see me. She had texted me the night before saying I was going to get a package. So there I was waiting for some kind of package but I fell asleep. Next thing you know, BAM, I was woken up by mom =]! Anyways, a week before all this oodles of fun, I had gotten my hurr did at Carlton Salon and while I was talking to the girl doing my hair (assisstant manager) I walked into her asking if i was looking for a job and I smiled and said yes. The manager called to set up an interview and that's what I did yesterday. I think it went really well and i'm looking forward to his call next Tuesday/Wednesday.

All in all my classes are really good. Psych consists of 722 people, Bio 310 and the rest are normal size classes. My dance class is fun, the hip hop class at my gym is fun and everythings just going really well. Thanks to all of you who keep in touch with me by texting or calling, it really does keep me from being homesick.
