Completely inevitable. I thought I had this down pat! I thought I would be able to hold it off for a few more weeks. I thought I was in control! But alas! I embarrassed myself on the first day of class.
I woke up when my alarm sounded. Did my morning ritual, came downstairs to make breakfast and left the house didn't forget anything with time to spare. Everything was going smoothly even when I was lost for a few minutes searching for my first class of the semester. I came in sat down and took out my notebook. (It's the first day why would I need anything else?). The teacher came in explained the situation, why we were sitting in an empty room with chairs that looked like they'd seen better days, made me and a few others move across the room so we would be able to see the powerpoint. Although when I moved to my new seat that looked stable I'm glad I didn't fall off! As soon as I sat down it felt like I sat down on a really lazy chair that wanted to bend every which way making squeaky noises. Class proceeded as planned. Then came for a short break. I left looking for the Uni. Center and came back not knowing where the hell it was! I was there before couldn't find it again.
I went back to the classroom as the teacher was setting up her slides and this time sat down somewhere safer. Half way through the presentation I look at my watch and it occurred to me that it was already 2:45 and I didn't want to be late for my next class at 3, the latter being on the other side of the campus, so I stood up quietly and explained to the teacher that class was over time to go. My luck she questioned out loud that 'it was time already?' to which I said yes it was. Apparently my watch was wrong and it was still a few minutes till 2... What have I done!? I could have sworn it was nearing 3 o'clock! Did my watch magically run faster? Did I read it wrong!? I was anxious to leave already! Unfortunately the watch I was wearing the very same watch I've had for many years only had the numbers 12, 3, 6 and 9 on it in kanji. There was no little dots or lines indicating where any other numbers might have been so I had to guess. And in my panicking mind it was already nearing 3 but the short hand was actually nearing 2 as it was not on it already. So yeah this was my embarrassing moment today. Hopefully I wont have anything like this again for the rest of the semester!
This was in my first class photography. By the way I made it on time to my next class, sculpture, across campus. I don't think I'll have time to eat between those two. Since my earlier experience with photo was bad I decided not to speak up in this one. I'm glad this teacher looked more easier to talk to. He shaved his head and had a long red beard. He was wearing a plain black shirt, army shorts and used shoes. His accessories consisted of large green gages and his face was pierced at the bridge of his nose and septum. In short pretty cool guy.
