Of San's, Shun's, Weddings and Birthdays

Indeed! So what have I been up to lately?

Bro's back from Iraq. Seems like evil witch is finally pulling through but we have yet to see divorce papers. Got to see my nephew Marcus for a few days. Our family arguments have been dwindling down so far it looks good. I assume its because the witch-bitch isn't here to spread her poison.

San Japan was awesome! My schedule wasn't that great because they had me working during the day so I missed some panels that I wanted to see. It was made up by meeting a guy though. I had walked in the Sleeping Samurai area that morning watched a little and the ref. caught my eye. I just thought he was cute. I left and checked out the rest of the convention. Saw a friend! He's awesome. He made me a Capsule Corp. scarf, custom made inu-josha.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2gu0xw another view here inu-josha.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2gu0zz awesome stuff. He was there selling his neck warmers and such so he couldn't be away from his booth. Saw more acquaintances made an extra friend. 8) All in all a good way to start a convention off. Later that day after buying some stuff at the dealers room. I was equipped with a mask, cat ears and tail! I had some how wondered back into the Sleeping Samurai quarters and again was met with the same guy I saw earlier, the ref, lest call him Shun. Although this time he was sitting out. Shun was the first to talk (I'm really shy so I just assume no one's interested.) we spoke about mundane subjects and he inquired about where I'm from this and that. Actually after the few seconds of talking I had pulled down the mask because I sounded muffled and thought he wouldn't be able to hear me. We hung out a bit and walked around the convention. Before I knew it it was 2am and my dad had called to let me know he was coming to pick me up.

Now you would be wondering why does this 21 year old have to be picked up at all seeing as I'm volunteering and where is my car? Simple, I don't have a license nor a car. When I turned 16 I didn't want to burden my parents with paying for driving courses so I waited. I waited to long now because there was a law recently stating that anyone between the ages of 18 and 25ish have to take driving courses instead of the much easier learning by parents and taking the test. I don't have a car for the similar reasons I'm cheap and a penny pincher. I don't want my parents to pay for anything that could hold off. Via is fine with me. As for the volunteering bit, San Japan stated that no local volunteer will have crash space at the hotel and that it's easier if we just drove to and from the convention.

So here I was spending some time with a guy who seemed genuinely interested and my curfew is up. I told my parents before hand to pick me up at this time. Shun walks me down into the lobby where I wait I give him a hug goodbye and leave. The next morning I'm headed back to the convention this time in my cosplay. Unfortunately my straw sandals break before I even get past the doors! Not cool. I spend an our trying to figure out how to repair it and wonder inside River Center mall, the hotel is attached to it, looking for a store that might help me. Not only that but I was rushing out of my house and forgot to brush my teeth, that wouldn't be a problem if I hadn't eaten chorizo and eggs that morning. It made my teeth look like an ugly orange yellowish thing. Again not cool. I finally found a convenience store bought some travel sized tooth paste and tooth brush and used duck tape on my sandals. This repair didn't work. So I finally gave up put on my converse and walked out back towards the hotel. I was still in my cosplay so I think I looked a little strange there were some on-lookers and two old creepy guys who wanted to talk to me. But I rushed out of their way. I made it past the hotel doors and found a secluded restroom tucked in-between the lobby and where the convention floor was. There was just one other person there who thank goodness didn't ask why I was brushing my teeth in the restroom. Now that my panic was over I walked back out and hoped nothing else would go wrong.

This was my first time cosplaying at a convention. I wasn't expecting anyone to ask for a pic or to even know who I was cosplaying, it was Nanao Ise by the way, but it made me happy one person asked for a picture. I was back in the dealer room because I had heard Fred Perry would be there to sign autographs. He was completely awesome he had drawn a quick sketch of Britney and Stryyp signed and dated it for me. Enjoyed the rest of the convention again did my shift and was very sad that I had missed Keshiki perform. As for any problems there was just one girl who was very arrogant she had a rotten personality. It was at the end of my shift that she finally out done herself. She argued with another guest all because she thought a fake sword was real. I took one look at it and it was just a plain wooden sword with aluminum around it. That was my last nerve. I had reprimanded her about arguing with a guest and that she shouldn't have provoked him. She said she didn't care and would talk to a guest like that again, we were voluteering for safety this gives no authority for her. She was sent to guard a door or something and I had spoken it up with the head Security. He mentioned he was getting quite a few complaints about her behavior and this was the last one. She had her safety badge removed and they handed her over to the dealers room, let them handle her, apparently according to another lieutenant all she's good at is saying,"Badge, badge, badge..." she's a badge robot. Glad she was gone.

The only actual problems at San Japan were just one fight, someone pulled a knife out and a fight. One right after the other. Shun had found me this time he was cosplaying Squad 8's captain. I wasn't hard to spot after all, sitting at the safety booth wearing orange. With my shift over I changed back into my cosplay, we were matching now, we wondered around sat in late night panels and finally went to watch some anime. We watched Samurai 7 half way through the second episode he does the yawn and stretch without the yawn. I thought it was cute and leaned back into him. Awe.no? Another episode goes by and my cell rings. It's my dad yet again this time saying that he came by but I wasn't waiting. Shun again sees me off and I go home.

The last and final day of the convention nothing really happens everything is coming to a close. It was short but very tiring. I learned I'm a complete wuss and can't pick shit up! I was supposed to help out with packing in the dealers room. I didn't know I had to be a strong man for the job and besides they had lots of guys helping out I was pretty much the only girl. Can't they let me leave!? So I was useless I couldn't carry heavy things and could only take one box at a time. Lame! Have I mentioned I only stand 5'2"? Yeah I'm short, can't lift shit and hands hurting. Eventually I can't take it anymore, I've got cuts not blisters cuts on my fingers and hands and I ask to be let go. The head dealers room guy took pity on me and let me leave. Sorry I wasn't much help guys! I'm a weakling! I didn't see Shun that day and left with my parents. I only have his cell number and he added me to his facebook, thanks for communication we talk every once in a while.

In the following weeks my cousin's wedding was coming up. My aunt demanded that I wear a dress seeing as I haven't worn one since I was very little, or earrings for that matter. But I did get dressed up in yes a dress and high heels. This pleased my aunt who said I looked awesome (gorgeous was her word) and even wowed the bride, my cousin again saying I looked awesome. It was a fun night of talking to my cousins eating some chicken pot dumpling and dropping my silverware. Another mission accomplished!

To wrap things up, I have yet to see the She-Bitch I'm crossing my fingers for that divorce. I'm going to start classes at UTSA in another two weeks, transferred as a junior, going for my bachelors. Today or should I say yesterday was my little sister's 8th birthday party. We celebrated at Peter Piper's yay! I gossiped with my cousin who is having next week her daughters 3rd birthday party and I recounted the events of So, it died of shock? At least my brother wasn't pulling out the asshole in him for this that? day. I'm glad.
