Memorial Day
A reminder....
My family headed out this weekend to visit relatives and about fifteen miles away we stopped for gas and to get a bite to eat at a Wendy's that was attached to the gas station. A small convoy of army vehicles that had been in front of us pulled in and parked as well.
Two of the guys, in fatigues, were in line at Wendy's. A gentleman who looked to be in his mid-forties was there eating with his wife and he approached the counter and asked to speak to the manager. He then turned and asked the soldiers if anyone else was getting food. He sent them out to gather up everyone who planned on eating and bring them back in. They were still ordering and waiting for their food when we left. The gentleman told the manager that he was going to sit and finish his coffee - just let him know when everything was rung up and he'd pay for it all.
It was just a very nice gesture to witness, thought I'd share.
