First thing first, I want to wish a belated happy birthday to the lovely
saint_renegade. I hope you had loads of fun. If not, then I hope you at least received a delicious cake. ♥
And now, on to the main reason for this post. This month's challenge over at
picspammy (Scenes and Sequences) inspired me and as a result, I present to you all Mr. Darcy's introduction to the inhabitants of Netherfield from Pride & Prejudice.
Before I get to the actual picspam, I want to explain why I love this scene. Here we have Mr. Darcy - a reserved, miserable looking fellow who wouldn't be anywhere near Netherfield if it weren't for Mr. Bingley. He walks through the room with a look of disinterest on his face, but for one small moment, there's a genuine reaction from him when he locks eyes on Elizabeth. And Elizabeth's subsequent reaction is priceless.
Elizabeth: Either every young man in this room is going to be in love with you by the end of this evening, or I am no judge of beauty.
Jane: Or men.
Elizabeth: No, they are far too easy to judge.
Jane: They're not all bad.
Elizabeth: Humorless poppycocks, in my limited experience.
Jane: One of these days, Lizzie, someone will catch your eye, and then you'll have to watch your tongue.
Oh, you two. ♥
And now I'm off to watch Lost. Later, folks!
