In a life or death situation, would you save yourself or the person you loved? Why?
First of all? For the record, I do not love Dean Winchester. Not in that capacity, because that's somethin' that happens with time.
That's easy. I'd save him, hands down.
He has a brother who needs him alive, and a lot of people are counting on him to save us from Hell on Earth. I know there's a reason that he came back to us, and his life will be infinitely more valuable than my own in the eyes of the angels. Sam needs him - I can see what Dean's death did to him. Castiel brought Dean back to save us, and I believe to save Sam from whomever wants him to fall.
If you would've asked me this question a few months ago, I wouldn't have been as certain. But things happen, and people change the way they see the world. My entire worldview shifted and I came face to face with my own mortality while I fought so hard for control over my own body to keep the demon inside me from taking Dean's life and pushing Sam over the delicate edge the Angels worry about.
My own death doesn't scare me anymore. It's his death that I'm terrified of. I said it once and I'll say it a million times over.
I can't do this without him. And I don't want to.
