You ever wrote with a Squiggle Writer Pen or played with "My Little Ponies." Friendship bracelets were ties that couldn't be broken. [yep]

You've ever read Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, The Boxcar Children, The Babysitters Club or Sweet Valley High. [yeah, and i remember in 8th grade, one kid did a book report on one of the boxcar children books. after that the teacher puts limits on the books we could pick]


You knew all the words to "Ice Ice Baby." [i remember the chorus]

You wanted to be The Hulk for Halloween. [no]

You had a crush on one of the New Kids on the Block members. [no]

You remember the New Kids On The Block. [yeah. my friend, stephanie, made up a new kids fan club in second grade and made me join. to join you needed to know two songs and write a story about one of the members.]

You wanted to be on Star Search. [yeah]

You had Garbage Pal trading cards [i had a cabbage patch kid though]

You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before he had plastic surgery. [haha]

You wore one of those T-shirt rings or a scrunchi on one side of your shirt during your youth. [yeah]

You were styling with your peg legged pants. [nope]

You wore multiple pairs of socks in the middle of the summer just so you could be "hip." [nope]

Two Words: Leg warmers. [nope]

You have puff painted your own shirt at least once. [i remember painting shirts but i don't know if it was that]

The Cosby Show, Alf, or Out of This World was prime time television. [yeah]

You remember when TGIF and Step by Step first got started. [yep]

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, Wax off." [do i want to know?]

You were upset when She-ra, Princess of Power and He-Man cancelled. [no]

You can remember watching Full House and Saved by the Bell for endless hours, when they were new episodes. [yeah]

You have seen at least 10 episodes of Fraggle Rock. [yes]

You hold a special place in your heart for "Back to the Future." [yeah, and Chris modeled his film project on it. ie let's have a cast part before we start like they did for back to the future III]

You know where to go if "you wanna go where everybody knows your name." You remember Madonna in her cone stage. [yeah]

You knew "The Artist" when he was humbly called "Prince." [yeah]

You ever wore fluorescent-neon clothing. [yep]

You could breakdance, or wished you could. [just liked to watch]

You remember when ATARI was a state of the art video game system. [yep, still have one. i had a texas instrument game system. still works.]

You remember M.C. Hammer. [yeah]

You can still sing the rap to "Fresh Prince of Bel Air." [watched the show though]

You can recite the theme to Ducktales. [yep]

You own any cassettes. [yeah]

You owned a pair of L.A. Gear, Keds, or Converse tennis shoes. [yeah, i had l.a. gear sneakers with lights that turned on when you moved]

You carried your lunch to school in a Gremlins, or an ET lunchbox. [i still have gremlins stickers in the house]

You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the ONLY female Smurf. (And how come Baby Smurf never grew up...) [yeah]

You know about My Little Pony, Gummy Bears, Transformers, [yep, and the toys were much better than the shows.]

You can't do that on Television, Noozles, KIDS Incorporated, Captain Kangaroo, Double Dare and Hey Dude are familiar to you. [yep. how come they don't make good shows anymore?]

You ever had a Swatch Watch or a Donnie and Burke [yeah]

You actually spent countless hours trying to perfect the "Care Bear Stare." [heh]

You had Wonder Woman or Superman underoos. [nope]

You thought that Transformers were more than meets the eye. [i had some transformers toys]

You spent hours in the basement building and re-building Lego cities. [yeah]

Do Polly Pockets, or Popples ring a bell? [sounds familiar but no]

Big wheels and bicycles with streamers were the way to go. [i have streamers on my scooter]

With your Playskool record player you sang back up to Debbie Gibson or Paula Abdul. [unfortunately yeah. i remember having a kids record player with a cat on it and mcdonald's having a contest where you had to play a record to see if you won and i spilled syrup on the record and was upset by that]

"Party like it's 1999," seemed SO far away!! [yeah]

You stayed up all night listening to Teddy Rupskin. [i miss him. i also had a talking mother goose. we still have that but my brother throw up on her when he was a baby and we couldn't get it all out so it's now mother goose with brown stains]

Can we say Trapper Keeper? [say what?]

Can you tell you how to get to Sesame Street? [only babies watch sesame street ;)]

If you wanted to be on the GLADIATORS!!! [no]

If you still have a crimper in your bathroom drawer. [yeah. never really used it though]

If you remember singing Amy Grant's "Baby, Baby." [know the song though]

You owned an Indiana Jones hat. [no]

You watched original episodes of the Muppet Show. [yeah, i especially loved muppet babies]

You had more than one Star Wars action figure. [i have return of the jedi stuff]

You loved your pink jeans, black stretch pants and big loop earrings. [i remember girls wearing them though. and guys going for one ear pierced]

If you wanted to pick a lock with a toothbrush just like MacGyver. [no]

You remember when rollerblades were the new thing. [yeah. speaking of, i need a new pair. rollerblading is fun.]

If you learned how to spell mouse from the Mickey Mouse Club theme song or you remember Britney and Justin as members! [i watched the show but don't really remember them. i don't they had big parts back then or weren't memorable]

You felt like a big girl when your mom bought you GIRL TALK. [didn't have it but heard of it]

You used to wear bright pink slip-ons and jelly shoes. [jelly shoes sounds interesting...]

You used to compare your little brother to Ferguson. [who's that?]

You were scared of the Gremlins. [yeah]

You remember when Ren and Stimpy were a new show. [yeah]

Inspector Gadget was part of your daily ritual. [yes]

The Wonder Years was a part of your daily life. [yeah, and i was going to watch the final show but there was a lightning storm and the electricity went out.]

You had Hotwheel races. [yeah]

When MTV was all about Rock Hard videos and BIG hair first aired in 1981! [not that far back but i remembered when mtv used to actually play videos]

You remember PeeWee's PlayHouse and Fanny Packs. [yeah. i remember one time i put the fanny pack on wrong and then it wouldn't disconnect. after much struggle with the help of my grandmother, it finally loosened]

You keep your hot pink lipstick in a caboodle. [i had tinklebell nail polish and all of it was hideous bright pink or purple colors]

You could not get enough hair spray on those bangs. [too young]

How many trolls did you have? [i had a purple haired one and a pen one]

Does "Heroes in a half shell" mean anything to you? [no]

Everything was rad, totally awesome and tubular!!! [totally!]

You remember when the original Nintendo was the best $100 you could spend. You owned a Ghost Busters action figure, a GI-Joe, and a Hollywood Hair Barbie. You loved to play with your glow-in-the-dark plastic jewelry? [yep. and remember glo-worm?]

You envied Rainbow Bright's fashion sense. [yeah. i still have copies of the show my dad made for me]

You wanted to go to the bozo show? [no]

You remember when there was no Barney. [yes!!!]

From Children of the 80s

i remember a lot of it even though i was born in 1982. sometimes i talk to people who are a few months younger than me and they can't even remember what happened three years ago.
