I told VP Patrick awhile ago that I felt we really did not need that many more samurais and that I felt we had a few who did nothing, so why get more? So today he had all the samurais write down their name, job title and what they do for their job.
I, Patrick and Rob listed what we do, Chris, Lester and Dave did not. Patrick and Rob are hard workers. Rob is always working on how to make Anime Club better. Plus how many people do you know would spend $30 out of their own pocket for pizzas for their club? Patrick is dependable and hard-working.
For the ones who didn't. Chris works hard too. I don't know why he didn't put anything down. He kept trying to think of new ideas for the exhibition. And he also tries to think of ways to improve the Club's image in the school's eyes.
Lester is himself. He never tries to be something he is not. He's usually at Club drawing a picture. Another person kept volunteering him for the exhibition we're having. He never once said he would do it. I suggested later that we just ask him to make one picture and if he agrees, we raffle it off.
Dave, well, he was the one who keep volunteering Lester, and I'm sad to say my opinion of him has been lowered. He kept saying things that were painfully out of date and were frankly rude. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if you're doing nothing, you have NO RIGHT to criticize people who try. He turned to "President Pat" and said that Lyn was a terrible president and that so far he's been doing a great job. He started to go off on her which was more of a personal attack than a criticism, but Workman told him to stop, he didn't listen and tried to push the insult in more, then Workman stopped that for good. I thought he and Lyn were friends? Politics is a cruel game. Patrick was clearly embarrassed for him. He's doesn't even know that Rob is the President now after one and a half months and Dave is suppose to be the adviser to Rob, that's why he's a samurai.
And me? I did the original poster (the printing center messed it up though, see if you can find all five mistakes!), revised the Anime Club Constitution, and basically try to support Anime. After the posters went up, attendance at Anime Club soared 30%. Right now, I'm taking pictures and working on a new poster. I got a lot of good shots today.
Anyway, we didn't do much there. The exhibition sounds like a good idea. We need people to help, so if you go to Anime Club check for more information. We're also looking for artists in the "anime-style" and writers who write about anime, vampires, role-playing or any genre that is of interest to the general Anime-goer. If you have any ideas on what you want there, or what you can do or volunteer, you know where to go for information.
After the meeting, we went to Adam's where Chris, Rob and I talked some more and then we played DDR. It was my first time playing it and I sucked big time. I remember Leona back in 99 went to Japan and said about how she played a dancing game and how it would be a year before it got over here. She predicted it would be huge. Guess she was right.
