I WROTE A POEM/SONG LYRICS

Dec 05, 2007 20:08

It's been a while. My rhyme scheme is simple. But I like it that way. In my head, it's kind of ska-ish but a la "Drinking for 11". So maybe a little sad but kind of at peace. I might figure out a way to put it to the bass line I've been playing around with since J-Clifford showed it to me. It'll prolly be in 4/4 time cause that's how I think I play. It'll prolly be the same progression over and over. Maybe not.

INTRO
Some kind of funky bass line, a la the start of "Walking Away" by Streetlight.

VERSE 1
I got myself/
Into this stupid mess/
You drove me crazy/
You gave me no rest/

(Instrumental for 4 beats)

VERSE 2
We were friends/
But I wanted more/
It might have been silly/
Still, you I adored/

(Instrumental for 4 beats)

CHORUS
So don't abuse me/
Miss Difficult/
No, don't tease me/
Miss Difficult/

(Instrumental for 8 beats)
Cause I was wrong/
(Instrumental with funky-ness on last note - bout 4 beats?)

VERSE 3
I made a mistake/
Hell, I made a few/
That night we hung out/
Shit, I should've kissed you/
(Instrumental for 4 beats)

VERSE 4
I let it drag on/
I hoped for too much/
I got too involved/
You gave me the brush/
(Instrumental for 4 beats)

CHORUS
So don't abuse me/
Miss Difficult/
No, don't pity me/
Miss Difficult/

(Instrumental for 8 beats)
Cause I'm stronger than that/
(Instrumental with funky-ness on last note - bout 4 beats?)

VERSE 5
See, I wanted to hurt you/
La da da dee da da/
I wanted to abuse you/
Because you really hurt me/
(Instrumental with "la da da dee da da" for a couple beats)

VERSE 6
Now I just want to for-get/
What good is this abuse?/
I don't know what I want!/
"Hey Heart/
How 'bout a truce?"/
(Instrumental with "la da da dee da da" for a couple beats)

CHORUS
No, don't abuse me/
No, don't be abused/
Cause I'm sorry/
And I don't really want you anymore/
(Instrumental for like a long time)

OUTRO
Still/
I'll never for-get you/
Miss Difficult.
