Weddings and theatre

So, yeah. I can't go to Julia and Kendra's last performance because I'm to attend a wedding.  This is sort of the last of my friends from my teens to get married (barring a few who show no inclination to do so) and I managed to miss the wedding of almost every other childhood friend because I lived in England for those years (and we're not going to talk about the numbe of divorces from that group, either). But the upshot is, I actually have to attend this one.  I believe (though I should probably confirm) that there are very few people invited who I actually know/enjoy speaking to. And the invitation arrived +1. So now I need to find a date.  Anyone want to haul their butt to Toronto to go to a wedding of a person they don't know?  Didn't think so.  If some of my other friends were attending, I wouldn't bother, but I don't want to sit there all night, knowing only the groom, his mother, and like 1 other person. It's no fun.

Given that ainsleyaisling also has a committment the weekend of the 7th, we've decided to go to NY in mid-Sept instead. Still seeing Julia is key.  We have tickets to Wicked for September 14, 2 weeks today!  Thsi is a highly wonderful thing!  Yay for restricted view, it's not a lot restricted, and I've seen the show so many times (this'll be 9) that I could probably stage it in my living room, if I had one, so I'm sure we'll be fine.  We will be seeing 3 other shows, 100 Saints You Should Know and 2 as-yet-undecided. That Sunday is also Broadway on Broadway, which was so much fun the last time I was there. Every show playing does a song or two, and sometimes there are previews for upcoming shows.  And the Sunday night at Birdland there's a show by Amanda Green, which Tom Kitt as her MD, and random guests.  That'll be much fun  So schedule goes like:
Thurs - 11pm, catch overnight bus.
Fri - 11am arrive, meet ainsley, shop or something, check into hostel, nap?, see Wicked, go to bed.
Sat - get up early to rush for something, maybe.  see matinee, have dinner, see evening show, go to bed/bar/something
Sun - get up early to get places for Broadway on Broadway, see show, see matinee, have dinner, see Amanda Green concert, get overnight bus back to Toronto
Mon - 10am arrive in Toronto, go directly to work.  Eep!

Anyone who will be in NY the weekend of the 14th-16th, let us know and maybe we can meet up somewhere for a meal or something!

Now I need to go to work, try to find a place to live, a new hairdresser, and random other stuff.
