I travel myself obviously every day... but like you said its short distances. Night time... ek. I don't have trust in taxi drivers... and well my mate nearly died getting of a bus right where I lived which I think put the fear of hell into me. I've never seen that guy since. He sorta dispaired when he finally got out on intensive care.. He got stapped 8 times in neck, so his neck has really bad scars aparently... And well I think he doesn't want anyone seeing.

God I'm really helpping you here aren't I! I myself don't do long distances or at night just cause of anything that can happen. Although a long distance during the day alone... I could do. It's the whole night time thing. Mind you the long distance trains are pretty safe if you were going that way. Although I'm guessing you will be there at night and whatever you are doing staying the night or traveling back will be night... and thats where I do like it. Might be cause I'm in Glasgow. It is the unsafest place in the UK according to one of them poll things they do all the time. Read that not that long ago. Don't know what to make of it... but I can see a lot of truth in it. I don't think Wales really is that bad though? You never hear of owt in Wales anyway! Always Scotland and England.

But hey I'd offer to go with ya if you lived closer to me.. and I could afford it. Well that's a lie, I probs could. How much is it to get there though? A lot I'd guess. Don't even know where you live but tis almost in England you always are saying.

That would put me off for life it that happened to me! But he survived which is the main thing I guess.

It's not that bad. To get a train from Lockerbie (where I live) to Abergavenny is £40 with my railcard.

The problem I am having is finding somewhere to stay. I'm planning to go down on the Saturday and come back on the Monday cos the event is on a Sunday but I can't find anywhere near Abergavenny that has rooms free. :(

Only because he some how got away and ran all the way to almost his house which is a good bit away from where it happened... Then he fainted in the street. Lucky for him he was seen. Was in coma for ages... blah blah but yeah he got out which is great. We were all sure he wasn't going to. Just shows you.

Hmm. See I'd pay that.. cause thats not bad. Without a railcard then the added difference of where I live would bring that price way up into the league where I wouldn't.

Seriously?? All the hotels are fully booked??

Whoa. That was lucky that someone saw him.

It's not bad. It cost about double that to go to London last week.

Every site I've tried has got rid of the hotels from their lists as soon as I put in the dates. I'm still looking but not having much luck

Yep. My other mate heard the ambalance from his house and saw him lying there... Must be horrible.

Urgh travel eh?

Try b and bs... They don't put if they are free or not online mind. You will need to do like online enquiries or phone em up.
