So, recently I have gotten back into the Gundam Wing fandom.
Oh no!
Lol, yeah, basically. I have been rewatching the series and even dug out my mangas of it the other day (does it really count as digging if they're on a bottom shelf behind french books? I think so.) and flipped through them today. And what does this leave me at? Brain Meltdownedness! And yes, that is a word. Hmph.
So, how am I currently suffering from Brain Meltdownedness? Because the timelines do not line up. At all. They are really quite horrible in that way. I have come to the conclusion that this series was made to ruin my mind because there is no way that the dates are correct.
On April 7, A.C. 195 the Gundams are sent to Earth blah, blah, blah. Basically, war.
The first episode, where the Gundams are sent to Earth, says that Relena's 15th birthday (I can't remember if it actually says how old she'll be turning now) is approaching. Or at least, her party is. This is a major point in the first two episodes for some reason or another.
This puts Relena's birthday at sometime around April 7, A.C. 195, right? Or am I just guessing? (Unless she pulled a Sarah and had her party two months before her birthday).
The series goes on (I won't even try and ponder the dates of those yet).
The war ends apparently one year later, on Relena's birthday. Heero gives her a cute teddy bear and a card whose message will forever remain a mystery. This would then, theoretically, take place around April 7, A.C. 195, right? She would be turning sixteen, right? I mean, one year later, blah blah blah. It makes sense in my mind.
Well, then Endless Waltz comes into play! Which says that they're celebrating the one-year anniversary of the end of the war. Okay, this makes sense. There's been peace up to this point (well, Noin says some things about minor rebellions, but nothing major, right?) but, ::gasp!:: it's CHRISTMAS time. There are CHRISTMAS trees and lights and snow (not that it can't snow in April) and PRESENTS and all kinds of CHRISTMAS cheer, because it is actually December 24th.
But it's supposed to be a year later. Which would mean sometime around April 7, A.C. 197, not December 24, A.C. 196.
So, please, tell me if my logic is flawed, but wouldn't that make it a year-and-a-half later? December 24, A.C. 197. Which would make them all 17-ish? I mean, it's not that big a difference (except if you are trying to understand and make fic and crap) but it does at the same time. So please, any of you who have actually seen the series, what do you say?
In other news, I am suffering from the Dreaded and Most Destructively Persistent Headaches of Doom once more. It involves my right eye, right temple, and neck and back all being angstily twitchy and pressure-like. I find this quite annoying. I am also looking to get a job (Borders, B&N, Wannado City maybe (last resort there I think...)). Any other suggestions?
And so ends another post. For like...the two people who read lj. Lol.
