Sir Arthur C. Clarke has died.
Many things we all take for granted now, both in "fiction" and in the "real world" (imaginative fiction often becomes fact, thanks to minds like his), were his brain-children. This man knew what the fuck was up, scientifically and socially. His vision and foresight were nothing short of phenomenal.
I am thankful that he lived to see so many of his ideas manifest, and so many more actively on the drawing-boards of the top end of scientific thought. Many of the greatest minds in history were not so fortunate. He died a celebrated and rewarded man, 90 years of age. Rock on, good Sir!
He will be sorely missed.
