Today was my first Woman in Society class. It is interesting...but also kind of annoying. The teachers are really nice, but there are pretty much nothing but man hating woman who wear no makeup in my class. Obviously...this makes me a bit uncomfortable, because I am definitely not that. Well...at least the not wearing makeup part...plus, I don't wear birkenstocks. lolz. There is this one girl who annoys the shit out of me. She was at my student orientation...and now I have to take a class with her....ugh...jesus.
Okay..here is the deal. I am all about equality for woman and men, and equality for all races...but I just don't think that by wearing frumpy clothes and preaching feminist rhetoric is the only way you can be a proud woman.
They started talking about race and how white men have the most privileges...and this discussion made me really uncomfortable. I don't know...I know there is discrimination...but in my eyes everyone is equal...so it is hard for me to feel any worse for any race group. My main concern is not race, it is classicism and imperialism.
It is weird...because it is actually to your advantage to be poor in America, as far as education goes. It sucks to be middle class...because you get no money for school..yet chances are your parents can't afford to send you.
Ugh...Americas is just fucked. Period.
