That's sweet of you, Justin.

[ooc: Safe to assume he has Dawn for History/has had her in the past? Also she would never exploit him. :( Dawn loves her nerdy students best.]

Thank you, Ms. Summers. There haven't been many people in here looking for help, though.

No... there was a freshman asking about the participants of the French and Indian War.

[ooc: Absolutely! Past student, maybe? :3 Awww... best teacher ever.]

Day before finals skip day was a big draw. I think it's the threat of family friendly movies from teachers half crazed on too much coffee. That and not everyone is as good a student as you were.

And as for your question, I can only speak for myself, but I'll be chaperoning it. Attempted underage drinkers, beware. What about you? Going to make an appearance?

[ooc: That works perfectly! Also, Dawn loves her nerds.]

You never know. Maybe some of them spent the day studying?

I hope you'll have a good time. I mean, if chaperons are allowed to enjoy themselves at school events. ...I'm not sure. The last dance I went to didn't go well, and there's not really anyone to go with.

The optimism of youth. I'm almost thirty and crabby, I'm allowed to be nostalgic.

I don't think my job description for the night involves very much in the way of fun. As I remember it from high school, I'm there to keep everyone else from having too much fun, not have any of my own.

You should go, even if just for a little bit.

It's false optimism, but I'm almost fooling myself. You're not crabby, and it's never too early to engage in nostalgia.

Preventing students from having certain kinds of fun can be its own reward?

I'll think about it. After exams.

Then I won't say anything more. And you're a good kid, Justin.

I think that's how I should probably look at it.

Good luck, by the way. You won't need it, but all the same. And Justin, if you do come to the dance, make sure to stop me and say hi, okay?

...Thank you, Ms. Summers.

If I'm at the dance, I won't forget to say hello. I promise.

You're welcome. And so you know, when this year is over I expect you to come back and visit me when you get the chance.

Good. All right, I'm supposed to be doing Responsible Adult things right now, so I'll let you get back to the studying.

I will. It's not a long walk from the University.

Good luck with those.
