[It's... very dark. After a moment, an off-screen light flickers to life, revealing a Justin who looks far more disheveled and dirty than usual. There's an uneven dirt wall directly behind him. The camera is close; he's clearly not working with a large space.]
Four feet down. I've been digging off and on since Tuesday and I'm only four feet down.
[In the dim light, he looks frustrated. Maybe if he hadn't feigned asthma attacks to get out of gym, the digging might be easier.]
...I'm not the only one here. The graveyard isn't as quiet as it used to be with the new headstones. I'm not the only one digging, either. I have to wonder why we're out here with shovels. Grave robbery is a crime at home, but the deities don't seem inclined to stop us. What are we hoping to find? The corpses of loved ones? Assuming there are bodies and they've been buried at least six feet deep--average depth for a casket--and that there aren't grave liners or vaults in the way...
[A pause as he picks a worm out of his hair.]
The soil shows no signs of disturbance, but that doesn't mean there aren't bodies. If the deities can move us between dimensions, placing a body in the ground should be simple.
If there are bodies in the graveyard, what does that mean for us? What does that mean for those of us who are dead?
...I'm not sure why I'm here. Curiosity? Morbid curiosity. I'm not going to stop digging until I either find something or satisfy my suspicion that there's nothing here to find. I will, however, be at work tomorrow, Chief Beckett.
[A few clods of dirt fall in, much to Justin's dismay. He shuts the device off with a click.]
[Note to Shilo // Off Network]
I think I'll be gone most of the night. I'm sorry for not telling you about the graveyard excavation sooner. It's not dangerous and I'll be home later.
[ooc: GRAAAAAA--oh. Er. He's a slow digger, okay? Justin will experience misfortune later in the night and his network device will be left above ground giving me a perfectly fine window of opportunity to go out of town. At that point, replies will stop and friends may investigate/find his network device if they wish. Justin will be entirely gone until Thursday once communication stops (not at work, not at home, not on the network, just poofed!).. /tl;dr
ETA: Aaand he's gone! Should anyone investigate, Richard's grave will have a nice hole in front of it. There won't be much in it but Justin's network device, a shovel, and a series of flashlights lighting the digging sight, attached to the dirt walls with wires driven into the earth. And a millipede in a jar (just... don't ask). Justin will be entirely gone until Thursday!]
