More money than sense...

... this 'wonder' has now arrived in Brisbane. And while the 'concept' may be a noble ideal n all? ... all I keep thinking is how much MORE Happiness & Peace THE MONEY funding this blessed inspiration might have brought to a vast many that deperately need it.
Um.. last I knew there was a GLOBAL RECESSION in progress... right?
.... and besides the value of the raw stone itself, this completed object cost HOW much to make it? HOW much to INSURE it all along the way? HOW much to ship around all over the world from place to place? HOW much to keep secure/guarded? .. not to mention the various costs of having & maintaining its very own website!?
.. so what that this statue was already in progress before the Recession....for the love of Buddha, they couldn't break it up and set it into jewellery and auction off the lot and give the proceeds to Charities because WHY!!!!
How many could have had their EYESIGHT restored? ... their starving and/or freezing BABIES fed & clothed? ... entire families saved from destitution for that matter? ....
Methinks there's a number of heads need rubbing HARD against that Buddha's belly .... might knock some real Inspiration into them.
