While boys with nose rings scribble in journals...

My journey to the Perk today was shorter than normal, since I drove. I was going to ride my bike, but as I brought my bike pump around the building to air up my leaky front tire, I realized someone stole my front tire last night. What's funny is I just replaced the back tire; it's brand-new, but they stole the tire with the huge hole in it. Whatever they like, I guess.

Life is good.

Working at Starbucks a lot. Yestderday, Joe, Dana, and I had our "Starbucks Experience" training finally. We tried "Brand X" coffee (grocery store stuff) in a french press and tasted it versus the House Blend we have, which is good, but not one of our best coffees. The store coffee had a nice, chemically taste and "wet cardboard" smell we decided, but the House had this roasted, warm goodness going on. The whole meeting was pretty much like that.

After work, I found a Levi's khaki skirt for work and a funky overcoat probably made for a tiny Asian woman at the thrift store. The jacket is slightly too tight around the cuffs and way too tight across the boobs (a first)but I am DETERMINED to make this relationship work. :)

Raymond's been rehearsing for this play, Rocket Man, that Stage One is putting on. Haven't seen him much all week, which is weird, because I'm used to spending every evening with him after work. It's a musical of all Elton John songs, and Raymo is playing the piano for it all, plus in charge of the musical direction for the bassist and drummer. It's this weekend at Century II if you're free.

Writing a short story about my extensive black address book. It's got old and new addresses from forever ago, and flipping through it is like a little history book of the people and places in it. I've got Web's Web Solutions business cards from when he did repairs for the Cable TV station, as well as a card from Katz Delicatessen in Manhattan and a card of Bob Embree's, the car salesman Raymond and I knew who died. Soooo.... good distractions there.

Now, some input from you:

1. Do you ever stare at people's mouths? Why? Please do an answer for each sex.

2. What do you think about our military systen? What works? What doesn't?

3. How many of your exes do you speak with on a regular basis? Why?

4. When is the last time you were in an art gallery? Why or why not?

starbucks, raymo
