Lately, I've been thinking about making some felted wool flower hair clips. (They're very practical, you know. ) My desire to do this increased last weekend when Luci and I went to Crafty Wonderland at the Convention Center Sunday. I'd like to avoid boring or childish designs like this or this, but I do like these....

Some ideas from etsy:

Beautiful buttons and sewing details....

Good "3-D" shape, would tuck into a swirl of pinned hair well. Rose coronets seem easy to make.

Simple but lovely. Strategic scrunching?

Vintage buttons for the WIN! I have a bag of vintage buttons that could adorn one of these...

Lovely lovely bead work and contrasting sewing on the leaves. Just great. I could use 4 or 5 of these! It's a good use for those seed beads rattling around my craft shoebox.

The tightly wound center gives this one a visual pop, keeps it from looking flat like many other felted flowers.

All of these photos link back to their respective Etsy sellers, should you require instant gratification (and your glue gun is out of glue.) Do you have any favorite felted flower designs to share?
