So you're back in the ICT now? Dang! What happened in Ireland? I want to hear about it and see pictures. :) I heard from Matt that you had a lame boss who wanted to not pay you on time at Starbucks. You can only "understand" their financial "pressures" so long before you have to call the cops on them. ;)

Your favorite memory was organic poptarts? Aw. I always like hanging out with you and the gang/whatever gang showed up at Old Chicago. Though Old Chicago is nice, it's amazing how often music theatre/dance/opera people like to go there. What's the draw for the artsy fartsy types? I thought it was a sports bar for jocks!

I'm planning on going to Bluegrass this year. A group of my friends and I all want to get several big tents and have our own small "camp," like we did two years ago. You're totally welcome to join our camp, which we have unofficially named "Camp Pretty" again. It'll be the first year at Camp Pretty without Ashley Boucher there. She's got one more year in Cameroon for the Peace Corps *sigh.*

Why don't you work at the coffee tent this year at Bluegrass if you can go? You're a qualified barista, and you'll make great bank while having a good time. I've been working there for 4-5ish years, and Jeff, the guy who runs the place, usually hires whomever I reccomend.

This is turning into a long comment! I guess I'd better check you later!

Hey! I'm probably not supposed to announce this, so please don't tell Matt I told you...but we're planning to move to Chicago in the fall!!! We just need to figure out details. If I get the job I'm applying for I'll have to move up there before he gets off the ship at the end of Sep. So we need to find a place to stay, but I don't want to pay the rent on a Chicago apt by myself, or move all the stuff up there by myself....we have lots of details to work out. But I'm so excited!!!!! What part of town do you guys live in? Do you like it? What part of town is affordable? I know Matt likes the neighborhoods north of the loop...

Later, "neighbor"!

Oooo...thought...roadtrip back up to Chicago together after Bluegrass??? Depends on my job but still...could be fun!!!

Silly Maria,

Raymond and I aren't living in Chicago yet, though we took yet ANOTHER trip there last Spring Break. We've got two friends living in Rogers Park in North Chicago, and have found a couple of beautiful apartments we love in that area for about $750-$850 a month. We found some cheaper apartments just south of downtown/Cermak area, but they were too run down and in pretty unsecure areas.

We also LOVE Wicker Park, which is also called "Little Seattle" in Chicago. You can get there by taking the Damen stop on the Blue line. It's got wonderful arty things and cafes and bars, and a lot of the apartments are pretty historic. You can find some affordable places there, too.

We're also thinking about the West Coast now, too. I'm doing an internship at KMUW here in Wichita now, and as soon as I finish with that, I'll officially have "public radio experience" and might try to get some work in Oregon or Washington. We're thinking Corvalis--just a quick drive to the Oregon coast, a college for Raymond to attend, and just an hour from Portland. However, we wouldn't have our beautiful friends Matt & Maria up there. :(

Give me a call some time if you're living in Wichita. My digits are 371-4008!
