13 More Days!!!

With less than two weeks remaining until the 2008 Minnesota State Fair commences, I thought I would post a list of the new foods this year. The Bazaar area has been completely re-done and has added a lot of new ethnic food booths. I'm interested in checking out the booths that are satellites of the Midtown Global Market, which is located on Lake Street in between Minneapolis and St. Paul (but it's in Minneapolis). So, without further delay.... (Starred ones are the ones I really want to try!)

NEW STATE FAIR FOODS FOR 2008:

*Hand made tater tots (made with hashbrowns, cheddar cheese, bacon, green onion and sour cream deep and served three on-a-stick)

Chicken bites blackened chicken breast meat served with horseradish sauce

*1/3 lb slice of bacon fried and carmelized with maple syrup, served on a stick with dipping sauces

Walking taco (taco meat, cheese salsa and sour cream served in a Dorito bag of tortilla chips)

*Pig Lickers (chocolate-covered crisp-fried bacon pieces)

Foot long pizza on-a-stick

Holy Land Deli

*Island Noodles (Hawaiian stir fry)

*Grilled shrimp on-a-stick with butter garlic seasonings

Deep fried popcorn shrimp

*Midtown Global Market (foods from the Mpls marketplace)

*Leprechaun legs (lightly-batted deep-fried green beans with dipping sauce)

Panda Palace (Chinese food)

Pickle Pop (frozen juice in a plastic push-up sleeve)

San Filipe Tacos (fish tacos, jerk chicken tacos, churros)

Caribbean jerk seasoned sausage (jerk on-a-stick)

*Sticky bun burrito (tortilla filled with cinnamon bread pudding covered with caramel sauce)

And last, but certainly not last...

Grits
