I'm in new york right now at my aunt and uncle's house, which is empty cuz they're in europe, so i'm claiming this house as my summer home. Just for this summer. I've visited connecticut college, sarah lawrence, skidmore, and muhlenberg so far. i got to talk w/ the theatre department head at muhlenberg. tomorrow we visit drew and then spend a day in NYC and then we finally come home on thursday!
So far I've ruled out sarah lawrence, despite their awesome reputation for theatre and not having finals, they were too radical and the campus was really run down. I think i might even be considered conservative there, and i would like more political diversity. That way i can debate :)
we spent the weekend in lake george. it was relaxing, except for that 3 mile hike up prospect mt. man that was a bitch, but the view at the top was nice.
Here's some stories:
the other day my mom was trying to parallel park, but having a lot of problems. and these two old women sitting on a bench close by chimed in and started giving directions. It was so funny, we all the sudden hear "you have plenty of room to back up" and the short blonde old woman sitting next to her was laughing hysterically and saying "now you just straighten those wheels out, and you'll be fine" in her old womanish voice. we were all laughing at each other: them at us, us at them.
I heard something disturbing at a restaurant the other day. A little boy was handing a toy gun to his dad and saying "daddy, shoot me like a deer!" over and over again while he stood there like a deer. I was quite perturbed.
