The week is going to be over soon. Thank heavens! Ugh. We're starting to have to rotate Saturdays too. I, thankfully, do not have to work for that until the first Saturday in May.
Yesterday was kind of...odd. I went over to the parents' house after work so that I could have people help me stay awake and occupy my lately rapid firing thoughts until I had to go to bed. I also enjoy forcing Sean to watch Top Model with me.
Whenever I go over to the parents' house though I usually get involved in something that is completely random and that I could help with. Yesterday was the strangest one so far.
Sean is in a photography class at school and one of his projects was to photograph a portrait of a person and make it look like an old fashioned photograph. I have no idea what he would have done if I hadn't shown up. I really don't. He probably would have done Dad in his styrofoam barber shop hat. It...kind of would have worked I guess.
But I came in and Mom said "You can take pictures of Laura..." thus volunteering me for something of which I had no previous knowledge. *shrugs*
So we went into the costume box and dug out an old dress that Mom made for herself for a musical she was in back when I was little...or not even born yet. The thing didn't fit me at all. I put my arms in the sleeves and stuffed as much of myself in it as I could so the front looked decent. It forced my shoulders to hunch forward, making me fight with it the entire time. I parted my hair down the middle and pulled it back, Mom gave me her black lace shawl I wrapped around my shoulders and ta-daaah! I looked like a chubby pioneer woman sitting in front of a fire place, which is kind of an oxymoron in itself but Sean had to work with what he had.
Sean took a bunch of pictures of me, all like the old fashioned (boring) pictures you see of families and individuals and he had to pick the best one and manipulate it in photoshop to make it look old.
Mom was watching while Sean took the pictures, "It's too bad you don't have a tall, straight laced husband to stand behind you."
"Yeah," I said sarcastically. "It's too bad."
Sean busted up laughing.
Then we started on this story. I was in the photograph by myself because my tall, straight laced husband had died earlier that week and I was incredibly depressed, which is why I wasn't smiling. After a little more laughing my hypothetical sexy husband began looking a lot like Damian Lewis (shocking). But if he'd been available, I'm sure Sean wouldn't have needed me at all. LOL
I'll get Sean to send the manipulated picture so I can post it on here and let you all see how incredibly chubby I look how convincing it is. Seriously, it looked pretty good.
But yeah, it was something I was not expecting to do on my Wednesday evening.
