Came home yesterday and my brother was watching U-571 on T.V. I remember watching that movie for Matthew McConaughey goodness when I first saw it and it turned out to be a good movie anyway. Yesterday though, I was watching it for Thomas Kretschmann. He playes the nasty Nazi Captain of the U boat that McConaughey's crew is trying to take over. And let me tell you they had to tone him down so we wouldn't notice him over Matthew McConaughey LOL He had a semi-thick beard and walked all hunched over all the time (well he was in a submarine for most of the film but McConaughey stood upright from what I noticed. Hmmmmm...) He was in odd lighting as well so you couldn't notice how pretty his eyes are. But, he's the bad guy. No crushing on the bad guy! Danger! Danger. Danger. Danger. It's hard to like him in that movie anyway. His character is extremely nasty. But he's supposed to be Nazi so it comes with the job I guess. Every German actor has to play a Nazi at least once in his career.
I love when he speaks English though. His accent is oh so *sigh* very pleasant...
I was kind of bummed when I left work yesterday cause after realizing I got accepted into one icon group (see previous entry) I looked right before I turned off the computer and got rejected by another (
_goodicons click & scroll down for the post) *shrugs* Can't please everybody I guess. I may try again in a few weeks with this new icon batch I'm working on (18 so far). Many of the images are professionally shot which makes them easier and more versitile to editing. That's one thing these people who make these "good icon" groups should take into consideration, the image quality. Many times there are images you finally find that you've wanted for a while but they're not the best quality yet you still manage to make them work decently.
Okay, now to more important things.
I said a very long prayer before I went to bed last night. I felt it necessary for some reason. My brother Alan (his wife is expecting a baby next month) has quit his job, or so my mother and I suspect. *headdesk* Their third child is going to be born next month and he knows very well that he can't do without a job. But, I'm not even sure if he's quit it yet, so I shouldn't make any assumptions. He's been having trouble with it though and feels he has to stay home whenever his wife bats an eyelash. *growls*
So that was one part of the prayer. The other was filled with most of the people I know and myself. After a little sniffling, I felt a lot better and went to sleep.
I'm groggy this morning, but that's to be expected. It's Friday though :D
Mom and Cecily want to go and see The Producers tonight. I would like Mom to go and see King Kong though so she can understand what I mean when I say I like the German Captain better than Matthew McConaughey in U-571 *sheepish grin*. But we'll probably go and see The Producers tonight. It's a good movie and I've always appreciated Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick in anything they've done.
