Today is the birth of America. Over 200 years ago, men who felt ill treated and abused decided to lift their voices and raise their hand against their English king. Tired of the chains they felt bound to, it was a resolve that did not fade away. Instead, it led the people of this land to war. By the blood of patriots and tyrants, as Jefferson said, the tree of liberty was refreshed.

Today, a 19 year old kid has revolted against his King. By action, inaction, words, and words left unsaid, a fist of resistance has been flung in the Rulers face. Yet there are no chains; no abuses. Most transversely, this King has ruled with perfect justice and mercy. The hand of this Majesty has not been put forth in needless anger and jealousy. Instead it has been used to keep and preserve His people.

Why then has this boy decided to stand in anger against Him? Was it for some unseen error, held from the eyes of everyone else? Perhaps he was being single out, for reasons that are grievous? Let it be know here on, the answers are no. There was no ill treatment, abuse, or any of the nature. No, they were selfish acts and selfish motives that flung this revolution into being.

Is there forgiveness then, because we know this King is the Judge of judges? The psalmist sings to his people “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; let them also that hate him flee before him.” Elsewhere we read of His anger burning so that he destroys entire cities of wicked men. Therefore, can we not conclude that this rebel shall be put to death?

Yes, is the answer. Yes, unless there is something that can erase this man’s record. Not merely a covering but, as a paper put into water dissolves, is there some way that his wrongdoings can be punished with him staying unharmed? Praise to this King, for he has offered His Son. What good is this? One man for another, does it match? Indeed, and even more so. For the Kings Son is much more than some son but a perfect resemblance of the King himself. His offering can put a wrong man into the same seat that He sits at.
