There's a snap and a twist and they're nowhere at all. The screaming agony of a thing larger than the sun being shoved through the space between atoms, and after a moment of blistering unreality the constricting, claustrophobic world melts, giving way to something all the more familiar.
Suddenly Lucifer isn't in a closet anymore, or in a desert or trapped between a pockmarked Heaven and castrated Hell, but in a hotel in the middle of nowhere, her fist launching hard into Gabriel's gut, unarmed and swordless. It's disorienting and strange, before she even gets her bearings enough to realize herself and break free of the fixed track the universe put them both on- back in the Elysian, having that same old fight.
