today? Today was a pretty good day, despite the dismal weather. It was wet and cold and is supposed to rain later this week.
had a good workout and a pretty good yoga class. then ate, went to class, had an interesting talk on milton friedman. Here's the problem with libertarianism (which in theory makes a lot of sense): an individual is not really free unless they have the same opportunity and knowledge as anyone else. Therefore, egilitarianism is important: we must try and make society more equal, in order to ensure that every individual CAN be free.
Thinking about something in constitutional law. God only knows its interpreted incorrectly too frequently. Maybe I'll be a lawyer.
Did some good work, studying for my midterm tomorrow. Ate dinner at my friend Tyler's dining hall (Bartlett) so I could get some kosher meat! and the guy gave me half a chicken. Literally. I was all like, how am I going to eat all this meat? Totally worth it, however.
We had an ice cream study break by our Resident Masters this evening. Yummy. And an acapello performance. Here's what I decided about acapello groups at the U of C: they are just as good as others I have seen (UPenn, Columbia, UMD), but they are so much more awkward. I mean, the sterotype about Chicago kids being socially inept is not entirely true, but exists to enough of an extent to make such a performance almost...painful to watch. i mean, a singer is supposed to engage her audience. but if you close your eyes, they're amazing.
I believe in love!
(and currently I am enjoying being single, the hookup without the commitment. Except, there's only so much I am willing to do outside a relationship...which means, I'm well, horny...ah well.)
