"Whatever it is in the future, you and I
have had a friendship in this lifetime"
Often, we are afraid of losing our friends for fear that loneliness may engulf us or the memories spent together will diminish just like that. In the course of life, people will come and go. As much as we do not want them to, it is beyond our control as it is fate that decides. Some friends are just passer-bys bacause your life paths happen to cross whereas some will walk with you on the same journey of life, through thick and thin.
The point is, time is not the measurement to value the friendship you share with someone else. It is the quality that matters. How often do we treasure the opportunity of friendship with someone whom we first knew as strangers and slowly became friends? If friends value each other and strong bonds are shared, I feel that there shall not be any regrets even if those friends head for separate ways some day. Instead, it should be the feeling of honour and pride that fill our hearts as we leave that friendship and wish them the best. No doubt that the memories, no matter how bitter or sweet they are, may be gone as lives go on. However, it is the impact that those friends have on us and how they change our lives at some point of time, that will remind us of them. At least we will remember that that friendship once existed in our lifetime regardless of what the future may hold for each individual.
and well, i suppose its time i let go of all those regrets.
