Level 11

(Phone)I'm stating to look forward to the rewards. It's as if each horrible thing is the boss of the level and after we succeed completing it we get the bonuses and items! It's a little unfair it's just our own stuff returned, but it's still nice. I really didn't know how much I missed my clothes until now. I'm never going to take them off! It ( Read more... )

Keima is on a walk. It's the first day after awhile he's been able to shake away the heebie jeebies of the killer game. Despite his claim to be a video game god he doesn't mind the sun, and without a PFP to demand his attention the warm weather feels nice from the drab air inside his cooped up house. He sees Almaz and doesn't make much note of it until he sees the trademark scarf.

"Tch. What are you trying to be, some hero?"

Almaz looked up startled for a moment, hero? Did someone call him a hero? For a moment there was hope, but then it crashed a bit as he realized it was more an accusation of being fake.

"I... I am hero. At least, I know my title is out there and one day I'll get it back. I even did a few heroic things recently."

Keima raises his hand out to Almaz, interrupting the boy from speaking any further.

"Heroic is not joining in on killing people in this most recent game. Heroic is finding a way out of here. So many games that need playing await me at home."

"I DID NOT KILL ANYONE!" He didn't take any time in screaming that back in a quick and rushed voice. It takes him a moment to calm down a little and continue. "I defended people and tried to stop others from getting killed. As for finding a way home...." he couldn't help but simply sigh deeply.

"Oh, so you really might have admirable qualities as a hero. You do look a little ignorant, and you have that scarf. Maybe you're cut out to be one."

"Please don't call me stupid, and I know all the qualities that make a good hero," he starts to get a little fired up. "I have studied all of Sir Aurums legends, played all his games, watched all his anime, have all his manga, and even his special limited edition figure set! I know the oaths like the back of my hand, and there is nothing hero related I have not throughly studied! RPG, SRPG, Adventure Game, Visual Novel, Action Game, Book, Comic, TV drama and anime, all those things that contain heroes I have studied closely!"

"Hee~eeh."

Keima finds a piece of chalk and quickly draws a poor representation of Almaz with the scarf. He starts drawing lines extending from the figure and jots some stuff down.

"Ignorance," He starts, tapping the bubble with that word written in it, "Is not necessarily a bad thing, for heroes. Ignorance implies foolishness, foolishness implies naivety, which implies a pureness. True heroes are of the purest virtue."

"Then! Dynamic clothing!" Keima taps the scarf on the drawing. "A true hero is a cool hero. There's always wind blowing gently to rustle an accessory, like a scarf.'

Keima gives him an almost condescending stare. "Are you with me with this?"

"But it sounds so bad to be called ignorant...." yes he was whining but he does nod. "I'm following, I'm following. But, is it okay if my sprite isn't usually animated like that?"

"Are you familiar with the Tarot?"

Doesn't wait. And he's going to completely ignore the comment about his poor drawing skills. First Elsie, then Haqua, then Tenma and now this kid. What they're not that bad okay?

"The Tarot is a card deck used for divination. The Tarot has four suits and 21 trump cards known as Major Arcana. It's very easy to say that all the cards symbolize some event in life. The very first trump, Trump number zero is called 'The Fool'. It represents the spirit of searching for experience. Sounds like a hero."

Sadly he didn't mean to make it seem like such a comment, he was just concerned because there wasn't a lot of animation in his game.

"I see I see. So I would be the fool? I'm not going to have to meet a lot of people, have a lot of girlfriends, join a group of teenagers and collect multiple personalities to succeed will I?"

oh hay that sounds like my other muse souji seta falleng0d June 7 2011, 08:15:26 UTC
"Not that kind of fool. The one that looks at adventure with an eagerness to learn and to gain experience. The one setting off on a journey. That kind of fool."

Exactly what I was going for. Well, Souji and Minato really. abravelikehero June 7 2011, 08:17:40 UTC
"Oh good I was worried I would have to be a silent protagonist or something."

"There is but one final qualification to be a true hero."

Keima circles the entire figure of Almaz and writes down "Heritage".

"You need to have some special power or birthright."

"What about a title? I have one that goes next to my name as my class. Can that make up for it?" Of course currently his title was Demon Lover, but that wasn't simply an unfortunate circumstance that needed to be fixed. "Oh! And I'm fighting for the princess!"

"Those all fall under the category 'Heritage'. Your mission. Your motive. Your class. Your powers. This is a broad category but each facet must not be overlooked! As for your title, unfortunately it's given to you by the developers. Or other people. True heroes never pick their own title. No matter what."

"Um... so it doesn't work if I made my hero title? Though technically that's within the script."
