My, My . . . how language has changed

Grrr'l has been very mobile lately and has gotten into the habit of pulling books off the bookshelf in her bedroom.  I have a collection of comic strip collections in there with the rest of the childrens books.  B.C, Wee Pals, Chas Adamms, and of course Peanuts.  Many of these were my parents before they were mine.  The other day, Grrr'l pulled out It's a Dog's Life, Charlie Brown (1962, from a collection of strips between 1960 - 1962)  I started leafing through it and came across this frame:




There's something vaguely disturbing about Linus telling Lucy he forgot his rubbers.
