(no subject)
The past week or so has been pretty much a roller coaster. Firstly though, thank you to everyone who commented on my last post about my cat, and thank you as well to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. It means more to me than you know, so thank you.
So here's a run down of what's been happening.
09/10 - Helped my best friend, Dan, pack his moving truck. I've known Dan since I was 14, so not having him around anymore is going to be weird, but I think he'll be better off where he's headed - Massachusetts to be with his girl, reesie626. Also, as I was stopping at home to pick up some things to give back to Dan, my dad told me about Patches. On a slightly more positive note, I purchased Dan's 2x12" guitar amp - now we're getting somewhere.
09/12 - My birthday. Head up to Odin's with the intention of having two or three beers. I mentioned to my friend Paul that even though my BBQ was the next day, my birthday was that day. After that, there's not really a lot I remember. Woke up drunk the next morning though, so I'm assuming it was a pretty good time. What I do remember though, I was having a lot of fun. As Paul said the next day, "we were in rare form".
09/13 - As I said before, woke up still drunk after 10 hours of sleep. Realized my BBQ was supposed to start in an hour. Cursed some. Went to the store to pick up last minute stuff. Went to the park to get things ready. Unfortunately, not nearly as many people showed up as I was expecting, so there was a shit ton of food left over. However, the most important people all showed up and we had a blast and ate great food. It was a good day all in all. finedaytoexit was awesome and bought me four bottles of St. Peter's Cream Ale, which is perhaps one of my all time favorite beers ever (Thanks, Erin!). Went to the pub for a little while, however I didn't stay too long. I was pretty fried at this point.
09/14 - Spent the day recovering. Picked up Doc from the airport (He drove with Dan to MA). We stopped and had lunch and talked for a bit. Despite this, everything was starting to settle again at this point, and was not making me feel too enthusiastic about life. A lot of things going on in a short period.
09/15 - Spent most of the day working. Went up to Odin's for a pint or two, and this is where things totally turn around. The bar was not too crowded, so the jukebox was playing a lot of awesome oldies music, from Dave Brubeck to James Brown. This immediately put me in a good mood. I hung out and talked with my friends Ross and Mark for a bit, just talking and commenting on the music. Then about half-way into the evening, this very attractive girl comes and sits down at the bar. Turns out she was a friend of Mark's, so we got to talking and hit it off immediately. What started as a couple pints with the intention of going home around 11 o'clock to do laundry, ended up as me staying until close talking to this girl. From there, her and I took her car to Ross's house to hang out a little more, and then from there we went to her house, and well...you know the rest. It was a very nice bit of the unexpected. At around 10 this morning, we woke up and she took me back to my car so I could go be late for work. In any case, her name is Maria. Right now, I'm waiting to her back from her about our plans for tonight, which are probably going to involve her, me, and a pint of ice cream. :)
