Dear Da Fath Mar Mr. Mark Dearborn,
I am at school now. Mom told you about it Uncle Geoffrey said. I don't think it's like the muggle boarding schools. Do they have Houses in those schools?
There are four Houses in Hogwarts (that's the school's name). Gryffindor's colours are red and gold. They are known for being really brave. I think they're just loud. The Hat thought The professor tried to put me in that House, but I didn't think I would do good in it. Hufflepuff has yellow and black as its colours. They are thought to be loyal and they work hard. I guess they didn't think I was a hardworker. Slytherins are silver and green. Those students are sly. Everyone doesn't like Slytherin. I don't know why.
I was put into Ravenclaw. Our colours are blue and bronze. We're the smart people of the school. I don't think I should be here, but everyone says that the Hat professors don't make mistakes, so I guess I'm stuck here.
Oh! We all have animals. Well, not really have them, but they are our House mascots (is that the right word? A 5th year told me it was). Gryffindors are lions, Hufflepuffs are bagders, Slytherins are snakes, and we are eagles.
I am glad to be here. It's real fun, even if it's different. There are so many other witches and wizards here. You probably wouldn't like it. I hope I can be great like them one day. So I can make mum proud and yo I like it here.
I want to be on the House team as school as I can. The sport is called quidditch and we play it on our brooms a giant pitch. There are seven players on a team. The keeper stops the quaffle red ball from going through the hoops that the chasers (there are three of those) throw. The two beaters try to stop the other team's chasers from getting the ball. And the seeker, everyone likes him, when he finds the snitch yellow ball the game is over and his team gets 150 points. Each red ball that goes through the hoop gets the chaser's team 10 points. It can get confusing but it's always fun to watch. (I want to be a chaser. I think that they are the funnest to watch.)
I hope the owl doesn't spook any of your neighbors. I tried to find a brown one because they might blend in better to the trees near your house. I thought to send it to Uncle Geoffrey so he could send it to you, but then I realised he wouldn't know how to send it by muggle nonmagical post. I hope this reaches you well enough. Could you tell me how to send you things nonmagically? I wouldn't write often Can't write So I can keep you informed about the big things?
