[022 - I still don't get all my strange behavior. | Video / Spam!]

[About an hour ago, Buffy woke up from her coma and, happily, snuck out of the infirmary before any of the attending noticed her. After showering and making herself look perfectly groomed, barge comas are really good at getting rid of the near-permenant dark circles from under her eyes, she's pacing in her newly redecorated cabin, admiring the ( Read more... )

I keep hearing quite a bit about the holiday, but I've never celebrated it. [Which means today is just cook-a-lot-in-the-kitchen-day]

But yes. It has been eventful.

[Buffy is perky and oddly optimistic about everything. She loves Thanksgiving. And takes it very seriously.] It's one of the very best holidays. You should.

Okay, well, it's obviously kind of a sham, what with the origins having to do with the slaughtering of Native Americans and the disease and death that bring about curses only to be unearthed hundreds of years later... But it's a good tradition. A sham, but with yams. And pie.

Really? It's getting together with your family and/or loved ones, eating a lot, and being thankful to be alive and with them. Pretty simple.

Eventful in a way that I should be asking how you're doing? Or just plain old crazy barge shenanigans?

[Just a thoughtful hum. It's been a while since he's celebrated a family get-together.]

I'm doing fairly well. [Actually very well. He had a very good 4th wall day, and got permission to stop hating himself.] An effort to destroy the Barge sent us into the underworld. We were all animate dead.

[Her eyebrows raise a little and she nods slowly, looking a little amused. She's just gotten Crane's message so her surprise is minimal at this point.] So I hear. Yet another fun Barge event I'm glad to have been catching serious Z's for. Being a corpse again is not on my Barge bucket-list. Especially not one that walks and talks.

It was probably for the best. And that will be the most favorable thing I will say about any Barge coma.

I'm glad he delivered you to the infirmary.

[She... Pauses about that one. Buffy briefly chews a little worriedly on her lower lip before speaking.] Speaking of he, do you have anything on him? Has he, uh, y'know... [Buffy is lacking in being subtle.] Killed a bunch of people yet?

If he has, no one's been vocal about it. And they usually are.

Do you expect him to?

[Hrmmm.]

He's a vampire. Not just any vampire. He's one like Dracula, got a whole fictional book series and a couple movies in my world on him.

[...] Short answer, yes. Or at least with the skipping on bagged-blood and going straight for someone's neck.

Hm.

[He doesn't like the sound of that.]

Like I mentioned, no one has said anything. But you may want to advise caution.

[She gives a brief smile with little humor in it.] The last time I tried to tell people that vampires aren't misunderstood fangy-kittens? I got some serious backlash. [Small sigh.] But I'll see what I can do. It's not like my job has ever helped my popularity.

They can't argue with a fair warning of caution. Rex also spoke out against vampirism. But in some cases, I've been treated fairly by them- and I do judge species that eat those that can philosophically argue against their consumption harshly.
