I wanted to post this yesterday, but life got in the way and I ended up using tonight's commercial breaks to finish it up and edit and such (which means I'll need to watch the episode a few more times before being able to properly process it, I'm sure). Anyway.
Title: Degrees of Separation
Rating: PG-ish, I guess.
Summary: They'd warned them about

I don't think they are protecting those who were left, right the other way around, they are protecting themselves.
I think it's both. I tend to think that while it was a choice, it was the only choice they had (or, so they thought at the time). Maybe I'm being too forgiving towards them. I'm not usually this optimistic and trusting. But I can't see them - especially Jack - choosing of their own completely free will to just leave them to die like that. I don't know. The "we made a mistake" I take to mean something they believed and shouldn't have. Not a deliberate choice to leave them for dead, more of a bad judgment, something they did that they thought would have a very different outcome.

Oh, god. Really? I really, really don't like that. That means it's been more than two years. No, I don't like that at all.
I can really see that they would take 90 eps to tell us what happens in 100 days or so, and then 10 eps to make the story move years into the future, the present-time-on-island story.
That would make sense. But argh! How frustrating to us, who want to know what's happened! I don't like thinking that far into the future of this show. It's too stressful!
I think they did something very bad, probably choosing once we were rescued, that they were not going back.
That would make more sense to me. I don't like to think that, when they were being rescued, they'd already decided not to go back. Unless they didn't have a choice.
Jack's transformation. It can't happen in two days.
Well, that's true. It has to take him a long time to grow that hideous beard, for one :/

Yeah, I didn't know what to think about the last ep as far as leaving went. Yeah, Hippie Guy did tell Sayid he'd fly them out, but, well, he also talked about making several trips. So maybe they're thinking they'll all just eventually get a ride? Who knows.
I saw the preview but didn't really process any of it. I never do; they go too fast. But I haven't watched it again.

14 eps now? Ooh, that's so much better than 7, at least! All in a row, yes. Pleeeeease. I could even do with a short hiatus, like a month or something. That would be okay. Anything but years. Ugh!
