What a wonderfully amusing line. And also quite sexy - I love it when either Bill or Laura think of one another as theirs in fics.
He knew how he got when he was inebriated. He would have told her that he loved her in a flood of emotion, going into excruciating detail. As a stop-gap measure, he'd sang instead, forcing his tongue into unfamiliar movements to keep it from flapping.
