POTD - Crazy props week

Jul 19, 2013 22:17

Our Ed can do crazy props like none other. In fact, the entire eppy of Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down is one lush designed set after another.

He gives us views of CIC like no other; introducing us to the CORE. He gives us the observation deck with telescopes and movie theatre-like comfortable seats and a sea of stars. He gives us Saul's quarters like we would never expect to see Saul's quarters -- full of paperwork and files and visitors' chairs (?) and crisp towels and sheets folded neatly in his locker (IDEK, check it out). He gives us Ellen arriving with the glory of a Raptor's interior lighting her way (really strangely 'different' but effective). He gives us a hallway on Galactica which is apparently getting renovated -- such an attractive private spot for Ellen and Saul to stop awhile to make out in amongst red and white checked builders' tape, red plastic, scaffolding and a wet paint sign. He gives us chills just by having Six and Doral enter a parking garage.

He gives us Laura's desk radio and its cords. Lots of them.

He gives us candles. Lots of them. (And those silver things that look like place card holders. IDEK)

He gives us test tubes. Lots of them.

He gives us glasses. Lots of them.

This is just one of the reasons why the Ed is one of my fav BSG directors. And this is before we even start to think about his lighting etc. Gotta love the Ed, and his style, no matter what you think of the eppy. ♥
