POTD - Crazy props week
Ladders! Less of a crazy prop, and more of an interesting choice on the part of the producers/writers. I can't think of many sci-fi shows that don't have elevators/lifts of some kind in their spaceships. Obviously, the ladders were meant to give us that submarine/aircraft carrier feel, the gritty Alien-type sci-fi set design rather than the flashy Star Trek one. I do like them, but sometimes I wonder about how sick!Laura coped with them. Was this why she stayed on Galactica? (Or her excuse to stay on Galactica. 'I can't get back up the ladder to Colonial One! I'll just have to rest up in Bill's quarters.') When thinking about the ladders, I couldn't help but laugh at just how many 'secksy times in an elevator' fics would have been written if they'd been in the BSG universe. And that made me remember that Bugs 'went there'. Yep, she once wrote ladder sex.
