On the Ninth Day of Christmas
My true love sent to me... True love!!!! We all know Bill never said *the* words, but we also all know he said it in soooo many other ways. Today, I've done a picspam of 5 reasons we knew Bill loved Laura.
Reason Number One: He listened. Yes, listening is a very attractive trait in any person, and especially in a partner/lover. It's terribly annoying when you're trying to confess your deepest darkest secrets and all you get is someone talking over the top of you so they can get to the 'all about me!' part. Bill, like a true BBE he was, *really* listens.
She knew he'd listen, even when she wanted to bitch about his son.
She knew he'd listen even when she was drinking too much and rambling about streams and cabins.
She knew he'd listen even when she was stoned and rambling about stars and ways to die.
She knew he'd listen when she rambled on about living with other men and finding that damn perfect couch.
She knew he'd listen and not accuse her of taking too much chamalla or insanity when she had Shore visions.
She knew he'd listen and handle her funeral just like she wanted.
Reason Number Two: He wanted to look cool in front of her. We want the loves of our life to love us back, and therefore, we try and show them our best side. It's no different for Bill. He especially liked to make Laura think he was always in control. Yep, he was always thinking about how she would react if she found out he was less than perfect, obviously!
He doesn't want her to find out he frakked up with a previous mission.
He doesn't want her to find out he's not as pretty as he used to be.
He doesn't want her to find out he's upset about getting a demotion.
He doesn't want her to find out he can't save her from five measly Cylon Basestars!
Reason Number Three: He's always willing to let her take charge. He's never a male chauvinist pig. He accepts she might make better decisions than him sometimes. Even if sometimes those decisions make absolutely no sense.
You have to go to the brig for mentioning a book. Why? 'Cause my girl said!
You have to turn the ship around and follow the ramblings of a scroll written thousands of years ago. Why? 'Cause my girl said!
You have to take truth serum and bathe with creepy kids with really long fingernails. Why? 'Cause my girl said!
You have to make Galactica into a really bad reality show. Why? 'Cause my baby said!
Reason Number Four: In sickness and in health. It's a standard vow of love. Bill is always willing to look after his girl when she's sick, despite his already hectic schedule.
Bill will make the diloxin hurt less.
Bill will make his annoying son less annoying.
Bill will make the trip to his quarters less difficult by carrying her bag.
Bill will make everything better just by being there.
Bill will be by her side even though Billy and Baltar are clearly not approving.
And finally, Reason Number Five: Part of being in love is sharing your life with that special someone. It goes without saying that Bill is willing to share everything he owns with Laura. Love, huh.
