This is the first fandom that I have ever written for - (I used to read x-files stuff about 16 years ago on gossamer, but was too scared to write anything

Love all the tumblr pages you listed! They're such a nice break! I tried to post another tumblr link for bsg, but LJ considered it spam. How do I avoid that in the future? thank you!
Hmm, not sure-- I got an email alert of your reply to my comment, but I see that it is not posted here. When I posted the links, I did html tags for the links like this:
So not cool.. ;) I am not a spammer LJ! :( I'll try to figure out something different next time, Anyhow, aside from that one there's also 'never lend books' which has some really nice pics. The title alone had me. I think if you put that into the tumblr search engine you'll find it.
You can get some stats from both SI and LJ. Although, it can be depressing. '100 reads and not one Godsdamn review?'
I also find the stats of SI's most reviewed/favourites a little misleading too. Most of them are from the peak of the fandom, and post 2009/2010 things were much quieter, and it's like comparing oranges to apples, if you know what I mean.
of course their is much more of a community feel here And yes, as I said to someone in my other convo about fanficnet, it seems a very isolated place, and I can't work out how you'd improve without some sort of feedback.
Oops - just realised I used the wrong 'there' in my first comment! How embarrassing!
Getting feeback on ff.net isn't the problem as there are some very active reviewers, the annoying thing is that you can't easily have a conversation like you can on here as its all PM's instead of open chat.
What I like on here is that if you get a review, you can thank people for taking the time to comment and get into a conversation about the story.
I'm quite particular about responding to reviews and really like to get a response when I review other writers. (In fact on SI it is v. rare that I will review a writer if I see that they never thank people for reviews LOL - I'm just really fussy like that!!)
But people don't tend to reply as frequently to reviews on ff.net as there's not so much of a community - they don't seem quite as engaged... *shrugs*
Ha ha! you have written so many stories, it must be hard to keep track of reviews. (I've only written 4 so its very easy to manage LOL) That said, you have always responded to all of my comments on your stories - which is why I continue to review! so thanks :D

I can't claim to be any kind of tumblr expert, but here is what I think is a tongue-in-cheek explanation of what tumblr is/means.
