In preparation to do a flirting poll, we'd like to catalogue the flirting moments, then will have a big vote off!

As our faithful Fleet's leaders, Bill and Laura couldn't be passing notes in Ward Room meetings or playing footsie during the weekly movie night on Galactica.  (Not to say we can't do all that in fics.)

Thus making their few flirty ( Read more... )

Thus making their few flirty moments all the more enjoyable and precious. First, name some of your favorite flirting scenes.

Oh man, so many to choose from! All of their scenes in ADITL were just oozing with yummy UST and copious amounts of eye frakking. But I also love the domestic, easy flirtation between them during their morning coffee in The Oath. But then again, there is also the EPICNESS of their high flirting during UB. I CAN'T CHOOSE OK!?!?! I LOVE IT ALL!!!!!

Who do you think was the biggest flirt of the two? Defend your choice vigorously! I say both, but in different ways. Laura was more obvious with her flirting in general (Bill's most obvious would have been his 'beds' comment in DH) but I think that Bill charmed her in subtle ways. Of the two, I always see Bill as being more subtle, whereas Laura, had a big ol' FRAK ME sign on her forehead several times (UB, ADITL, and pretty much all of season three ( ... )

Copy and paste away. :P Hehe.

Seriously though, those two eye frakked like champs, imagine what the sex was like! I bet the reason why we never got an Adama/Roslin sex scene was because it was way too hot for our silly brains to comprehend. We would have evaporated right then and there on our couches while watching. I am sure of it. Or, they probably filmed it, but the sexual chemistry literally shattered the camera lenses. And melted all the equipment.

Just saw the scene from ADITL, as I didn't remember that episode very much.

But OH-MAH-GAWD. How can I not remember this?

L: "Are you talking about that night on New Caprica...?"
B: "... And other times..."

EVIDENCE. IT HAPPENED A LOT. THE SECKSING THAT IS.

But Defyingnormalcy is right, it's Laura all over who's insinuating and taking the matters into her own hands. While Bill try to keep it professional, she's working him like a horny female and he has noooo chance.

OK - here’s my hasty list o’ flirting

Water -- This ones all about the Bill, a little light eye frakking and a present. Yes this one is all about the looks and the books.

Flesh and Bone- - Bill clearly invited her to his quarters for a drink. So what if she only accepted because she thought he was a Cylon.

Colonial Day- - Bill all of a sudden turns into Mr. Flirty McFlirterson. “I’m here cause I’m a patriot. And since you’re the president what could be more patriotic than dancing with you?” I might be paraphrasing that scene. Laura flirts back a little when they dance.

Home- - Bill wins again. “I forgive you, Laura.” First name = Flirting

Pegasus -- They both get points for general I’m gonna miss my Commander/President moments, but Bill gets the nod for the Up the Skirt Stare. yes I guess he’s flirting with her ass.

Ress Ship- - Bedroom Scene - Laura starts the flirt with that throaty “A new body.” BiIll picks up and carries the ball through the scene. Lovely hand holding and wibbly crying. Then the Promotion scene where ( ... )

Now I want to go back and watch each listed epi with this list in front of me. Which, you know, is not a problem...

I kind of see every time Bill drops the Iron Commander face and relaxes his facial muscles in her general direction as flirting...really, really subtle flirting.

I had to reign in my list, I realized it was becoming a list of shippy moments which aren't always flirty moments. And I'm with you, an crack in the Presidential or Admiral armor is like flirting to me!

A Day in the Life- - Laura “Can I please Stay in your life on your ship” Roslin is the queen of USTy envelope pushing. “I’m going to go to the gym” clearly means iI want you to think of me unprofessionally and sweaty. “It’s a pretty good mystery” is clearly a reminder of how much they have in common. And Bill I absolutely would have frakked you senseless in built that cabin.” is fairly self explanatory.

THIS.

Oh, I just had to revisit because I can't believe that no one metioned the end of faith. Yes it is long after the flirting began, but if you stick with canon they ain't done the deed yet and that whole, "You made me believe." Well hot damn. Hard core flirting there. Oh Bill! You surprise me.

I will hop in to say that I'd count that as a Deep an Abiding Love scene rather than flirting. You'll find I have a rather tight definition of flirting. (So we can get this down to five, darnit!)

To me, flirting is trying to entice the love object into sexy times/lurve. That scene feels like a confessional of the depths of their feelings, their personal growth, the sort of conversation we rarely got for A/R since there were Quad of Doom scenes to suffer through.

Yes, please make our jobs easier. Please. Shippiest ep was traumatic. I applaud tight definitions. Now I am going revisit. Darn. Thinking about A/R sucks.

I cannot in anyway argue with this assesment

Using the guideline that flirting is trying to entice the love object into sexy times/lurve. this gets much harder.

Clearly UFB was all flirting. It was prelude to sexy!times and I think Laura was the winner in that round. And actually I think we could break this into all three flirty scenes.

The Opening scene of Eye frakking!

The Weed and Alcohol scene of UST!

The Sandbag scene of "ZOMG Bill, just kiss her!"

Then I think we have to skip to A Day in the Life, specifically to the final scene between them. Even though it's Laura that gives the book I think it's Bill that starts the flirt by daring to bring up NC. Laura takes over from there and clearly lets him know where she stands by the end of the scene. She didn't want to "talk" about anything and I think we all know that.

I am torn as to whether the Crossroads phone!sexing falls into the flirting category. To me it's got that sort of edge, but is really more about comfort. But if it's flirting it's all Laura ( ... )
