I’ve been putting off reviewing Joker's Asylum: Two-Face--by David Hine and Andy Clarke--for almost three years now. The story is just that maddeningly frustrating to me, as is the fact that many people love the ending.
I was cautiously optimistic a few months before the issue’s release, when I read

Glad to hear you loved Long Shadows! I adore it, but it seems to get ignored or looked down upon, usually by fans of Grant Morrison's Batman. Compared to what Grant's doing, they consider Winick's story to be old-hat and "same old, same old." That version of Harvey is also, you may already know, one of my favorite takes.
Speaking of Grant, I'd be very wary about what he might do with Harvey. Grant tends to write superhero characters as ideas rather than characters, and his Two-Face would undoubtedly be a walking dispenser of theme and symbolisism rather than a person with emotions and motivations and dialogue that sounds like something an actual human being would say. But nonetheless, I would like to know what his ideas would be, if only to see another writer--one better suited to character--put them into practice.
Funny, but Harvey's been the only major villain to have pretty much been absent from Morrison's run. Well, he and Eddie. I wonder why that is?
I have not yet tackled AA:ASHOSE! I've been putting it off, partially because it's daunting, and partially because I fear I might ruin my copy with the scanner. But I think I will do that one at some point in the near future. In fact, Henchgirl may join me, and we might just look at the whole book, not just the Harvey parts! Be warned, though: much as I'm dissatisfied with Grant's Batman currently, I like AA rather more than she does. But it'll be entertaining and snarky, I assure you. :)
